I mean no Raptors fan is OK with this, but a good portion of us knew that it had a large chance of happening. It was a chance the team took and a risk we all bought into. It would be stupid for us to be caught off guard. We can be disappointed, sure, but getting angry at Kawhi is not rational.

As for the Bucks fans, totally recognize how much it sucks for others to circle around your team and try and poach your star. But if there is one thing that's clear in today's NBA, it's that you win by poaching other teams' stars when the time is just right. So Giannis 2021 it is - may the best team win.

People have it wrong. The raptors and their fans knew he would leave for L.A. The goal was to try to win a title while getting rid of derozan horrible contract. Everything worked out perfectly. Do the raptors a d their fans wish he stayed ? Of course. But he didn't, and we got a title for it. People may think us saying we got a title for him is to relax our hurt or insecurity. But we're serious, we're happy the way it turned out even though he left. Think about it. 95% of current NBA fans will die not ever experiencing their team win a title. Especially with this buddy system as players recruit each other instead of playing against each other. 99% saying they feel sorry for Toronto have never experienced their team win a title and will die not ever doing so. They took a balsy risk on trading for Kawhi and the city showed him nothing but love. Jurrasic Park was something epic that hasn't been seen before. Now who knows when we'll ever get that type of fandom from a city. Definitely not the Clippers in LA. Jared Dudley said on Woj's Podcast that when he was on the Clippers (when they were good) it was still a Laker city even though the Lakers sucked.

Toronto showed Kawhi the time of his life and even won a championship. They deserved Kawhi more than both LA teams. Now we have to watch the Clippers dominate while chumps like Beverley run their mouth the entire time. Yuck.

I also feel like they should feel really good right now compared to where I expected them to be back when they had DeRozan. Both in terms of raw assets, and the growth & spirit of the actual team, you have something that could be really good for a long time.

But it sucks to be rejected particularly when you've had something of a basketball inferiority complex. They gave him everything - did everything basically perfectly for him - and it wasn't enough, exactly what you were afraid would happen. That's something I get if it bothers Raptor fans, so I feel for them.

I don’t live in America so I can’t even say. The raptors winning championship in Canada was huge and was bigger than Stanley cup. That’s all I go of off

Like I said before this upcoming season there will be 29 losers. Whether one finishes in Conference finals or in lottery it’s the same result without the championship.

I don't feel bad for Toronto they got a championship out of the Spurs trade. I feel bad for the Spurs they had to trade a top 3 NBA player he wanted out. They were in position to keep him for many years if he wanted to remain a Spur. He wanted to go to Clippers all this time. So if any team I feel bad for it's the Spurs not the Raptors.

Yes, it worked out beautifully for the Raptors. Spurs franchise took a hit over this whole Kawhi ordeal when the whole time he had LA on his mind. Raptors knew what they were getting into when they traded for him.

Spurs vets like Parker turns out were right all along, he just didn't care and didn't want to be there. He played his ass off for Toronto because he had to prove his value for a contract and it worked out like a charm.

Spurs are the real victims of this whole Kawhi fiasco, Toronto took the risk and it paid off.

Who leaves a defending NBA championship team to go to a bigger market, basketball is a team sport that's a bit shallow of Kawhi to not defend the title they won because he wanted to be in LA.
