If this is the end of the We The North era and the Raptors reset and rebuild from here the fanbase can rest easy knowing that this run reached the ultimate prize. Longtime Raptor fans are happy.

At least the ones that aren't bipolar.

Real talk, Doc!

'Whi was basically voluntold to join the Raptors. Mans honoured his contract like a gentleman. It was clear he always wanted LA. Yeah, he could have pouted and shut it down or force his way out. Instead, he put his quad on the line for the team, for the city, for the country. Messed around and won a 'Chip.

He opted out of this upcoming season to become a Free Agent. He earned the right to be a Free Agent. He made his decision for his family and his career. We all wish him the best going forward.

He's a legend in Toronto. Nobody can say nothin' to him. Of course, some people are gonna be salty. That's what it is.
To go from getting swept last season by the Cavs, to trading for 'Whi, and THEN winning it all? SHIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttt.

Ain't nobody feelin' bad for the Raptors, nor should any one feel bad for the Raptors.

Long time Raptors fans appreciate this.

The newer Raptors fans never had to suffer.

As a Clipper fan I was obviously hoping for this outcome, but do genuinely feel bad for the Raptors and am glad they at least got a title with the big trade.

In general I like to see guys stay with their teams (even though in this case Toronto didn’t draft him.)

You have the FO so this is in no way the end. Ironically the Clippers actually made the same sort of bold move in trading for PG, that Toronto made to trade for Kawhi.

What helped for me was not getting into any arguments about which was the better destination, or what Kawhi’s heart wants, or whatever, when none of us really knew. I thought we were in the mix, but not necessarily front runners.

But least they'll have a trophy to look at as they slide back into irrelevance for the next decade (probably longer, I am trying to be nice).

The Raptors beat three teams to get to the finals. Why are you hating on the team you support? I'm glad that the Raptors won this year so I can finally appreciate the other teams in the league without any envy.

I do. I'm happy we won the competition for Kawhi, but I also hate to see Toronto slide after such a great year and title.

I really wouldn't. It was an amazing year and gives us a taste of what it feels like as we try to build something more sustainable.

Feel bad for teams like Orlando, that got to the finals twice and have nothing to show for it. Or the slew of teams that haven't made it in decades or ever.

Everyone really only cares about their own team anyway LOL. I don’t think people will put an asterisk next to Toronto’s title. GSW’s opponents had some injuries too here and there in their title runs, it’s part of the game.

I am not sold on Kawhi being the best in the game right now.. I think that takes away from how good the teams have been that he has been on. I am also not so sure about his durability or the length and quality of his future years. Obviously its good for him to get home and have a longer contract. Good Luck to the raps this upcoming season. Like everyone who supports a winning team comes to learn, winning means you no longer are the underdog and get league wide support. How some fans respond while on top, determines a lot about the how the entire fanbase can be perceived. Just the way it goes.

We got our championship and we’re still in a very good position. Sucks to lose Kawhi but it was still the best trade in franchise history and that banner will hang forever. I’m happy for Kawhi, he now has a chance to win a 3rd title with a 3rd team. He will always be a hero at Jurassic Park and he will rightfully receive a standing ovation of epic proportions when he returns next year. He will forever be my favourite player of all-time and I know a lot of Raps fans feel the same way.

Some of us will also be cheering for the Clippers next season.

And life goes on.

Don't feel bad...we still have a championship, Masai, and Siakam....it's not all doom and gloom, Masai set us up perfectly for a rebuilt and he didn't mortgage our future away for a championship.

Congrats dude. I know plenty of Raps fans like myself went to war against you but truth be told it's better for the league that he ended up with y'all over a potential super team Lakers. More parity this way I reckon.

Man I wish I had that shirt! 8-) I loved some of those teams, even the (really) young and developing 30-52 season.

No, TOR knew this was a possibility going into this when they traded DeRozan. And they still got a title out of it.
