I hope not

Pistons gotta make that happen! I don't even like Kennard(not a Piston type player), but if we can keep him and trade Reggie/Snell/Sakeo+1st rounders, take the deal.

I'll be rooting for him just like I rooted for Blake despite not wanting to get him in the first place. I'd have been delighted to be dead wrong and see the move become a success, but unfortunately despite his good play that hasn't happened. I support my team just as I have the last 10 years, even when they do things I don't agree with.

Don't presume tell me what to do or how to feel. That's all I ask.

Huh? I'm not telling anyone what to do or how to feel? I'm just asking folks to keep the same opinions and energy when this team is winning "if" we get Westbrook.

You're telling me that being opposed to this trade means I shouldn't feel entitled to enjoying the team should things go well.

And it's not appreciated.

Should we deal for him, I'll HOPE to be wrong. Why is that hard to grasp?

No need to check that often. Just keep Woj and Sham's twitters on tabs of your browser and refresh whenever the tab indicates there is new content. I keep them open while I'm doing other things during free agency period in general.

I'm not going to believe this Westbrook business for a second unless I see it from a reputable source.

You know Westbrook had a 50 TS% last year? YIKES.

And to be clear, I'm no hater either. I've been a huge fan of Westbrook most of his career as a UCLA fan. I've defended him in the face of criticism before. It pains me that I was proven wrong about the guy the last couple of years. But it really appears I was.

I got the same feeling too.
I personally love Westbrook as a player and think Gores will push to make this happen.
East is wide open. Westbrook/Dre vs Embiid would be all kinds of awesome.
I'm not convinced the price will be high. A salary dump + pick may be enough.
Jackson, Snell, Galloway, protected first is fair, imo.

League history is full of guys with all of the talent in the world who just never had the quite mindset. And if you don't the talent just doesn't carry you as far. Not just true in sports.

League is not full of guys who can create their own offense at a high level like he can either. Thats gives you two legit go to options with him and Griffin.

Then you got a 20ppg scorer off the bench in Rose and the best rebounder in Dre. If we have decent depth thats a really solid team

The way I see it, we're already locked into an aging superstar on a huge contract. We can't / won't be tanking and won't be attracting FAs. Might as well double down on our current approach and try to have a couple of fun years instead of constant 8-11 seed slog.

We can absolutely give more than all teams but the Knicks. We can give salary relief, young prospect and picks. That's as good as it gets for large contracts specially our picks. I just really think there's a deal going on right now and it's silent and it can be dealt anytime this week. I'm feeling tomorrow morning

We can have Westbrook if we want him, depending of course on how badly. Nobody is going to outbid the upper limit to what we can in theory offer.

I just pray we don't offer anything close to what we can. We've got some actual assets now that I'd very much like to hold onto, including future flexibility, picks, and a few prospects of varying importance.

I’m terrified of what they may give up for a contract that other teams don’t want.

Additionally, I’d hate to pay Westbrook the last year or 2 of that deal.

Consider we gave up expiring (Bradley), a very good player (Tobias), and first/second round pick for Blake when there wasn't really a market for him. Obviously SVG isn't running the show, and I'd like to think we've seen more caution from the current management group.

I'm cautiously optimistic that even if we're looking to get Westbrook that we won't be dumb enough to give up pieces like Luke and Sekou for him. Here's where I hope I'm NOT wrong.

Westbrook almost guarantees they we resign Drummond, right? Since we will end up over the cap and then its either resign him or lose him for nothing?

Gosh, feels bad man.
