If I can be as objective as possible about the 2019-20 Lakers squad so far... that team sucks.
You have past-his-prime LeBron, AD, a washed Cousins, overrated Kuzma, and a bunch of journeyman bums. And Frank Vogel as coach.
I'd rather run with Kawhi, PG, Lou Williams, Zubac, Beverley, Harrell, Shamet and whoever else Jerry West gets for them.
Clippers deserve to be favorite in the west but the west probably ends up getting decided by injuries/trades that contenders can or cannot pull off before the deadline.
I dislike the Lakers probably more than 99% of Celtics fans but unfortunately Danny Green is a really good get/fit for them and Vogel has already proven himself as a coach with Indiana -- when the guy has decent players to coach he does well. Green has been an RPM monster for most of his career at SG and is a nice fit with Lebron/AD. I am not a fan of Cousins but he is a better gamble for LA than he was for the Warriors.
I just think that 15M a year for Green is a bit high. 10-12 would have been enough. He also disappeared at last years playoffs and finals. He missed a lot of shots and had a lot of boneheaded plays. They paid him too much.
The Clippers don’t have anyone to defend the paint. Their bigs are Zubac and Harrell - a couple of second rounders. It’s even worse than Celtics rotation. How can they not suck with just outstanding wings?
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Cousins injury was worse to recover from and he at least showed some heart in the playoffs
Hayward had to have surgery in May or June. People don’t realize what a setback that was. Hayward basically began his rehab all over again in July. Not fair to compare him to George or others who had injury and 1 surgery.

I disagree, seeing your foot snapped backwards would definitely be a bigger hurdle to overcome than the achilles.
Players can come back from bone breaks well is my point, whereas achilles injuries can literally rob a player of all their athleticism (Wes Matthews, Kobe, Cousins etc)

Happy for him, hope he plays well - glad he got a big contract and that we’re not on the hook for it..

Cousins must be furoius at how many other centers got bigger deals than him.

It’s hard to feel that bad for a guy who is going to make more this year playing basketball than the average American will earn in their lifetime.
However, as somebody who still feels the sting of being swindled out of $20 for a Ponzi scheme >30 years ago....I can’t imagine what it must be like to know you lost 70 million in earnings over 2 years. He and IT should form a support group.

To me, TWolves makes most sense for Westbrook. Could he be happy in Minnesota? Only issue is whether Presti insists on Culver or is willing to take draft capital along with Wiggins and Okogie.

Agree....I think Boogie fits here well...and he will do what LBJ wants him to....I'm not sure Boogie does this anywhere else?
The larger than life James will settle Boogie down when the refs lean on him too...This bodes particularly well for bringing out his best game....
He may regain some of the form he showed in Sacramento? And if he can, The Lakers will benefit as the opposition will have to be aware of Cousins at all times...that will free Davis to beast on nearly every other team in the league...and then you also have to deal with Lebron....Maybe not quite as bad as if Kawhi was there, but It will certainly be tough matching up...

Darren...he would huge in Minnesotta....agree...Towns and he would add yet another contender in the west...
I'm not sure how the Wolves are set for future draft choices though? And I'd think they might want to somehow keep Wiggins too?

Not with Westbrook dominating the ball. Towns works as a great #2. Sort of a Kobe-Shaq dynamic. One that doesn't leave a lot of scraps for a #3. You ideally also want a catch and shoot #3 type, which is why I'd keep Culver. The Thunder will have the opportunity to allow Wiggins to evolve with the basketball.

I see your point and it's a good one plus in order to get something good you need to let something good go...that would work for both teams...

With Hollis-Jefferson and Johnson going to Toronto, it looks like the Raps plan to fill Kawhi’s spot is to sign a couple of underachievers and hope one of them blossoms.
Hey, it worked for Indiana and Oladipo.

Durant is going to wear #7 in Brooklyn. Lol. Him and Kyrie are stealing 7-11, get buckets 24/7 that Celtics Twitter had originally crafted for Brown and Tatum, before Tatum changed to #0.

That’s odd considering no one on the Nets roster wears #35 & it isn’t a retired number.
