Page after page on how Kantar can’t play defense.

How about talk about the things that he can do? He gives us rebounding and low post scoring. Something we didn’t have last year.

And while Horford was good defensively, he chose to leave. Kantar is a better low post scorer and a much better rebounder. And can possibly be a better fit than Horford was on this team.

This team and the fanbase need a little more positive spin on things, especially coming off such an underachieving, unwatchable season.

I’m excited about watching Boston this year. I’m excited about watching SL too.

Lsat year's team was supposed to be one of the most talented Celtic teams we had in recent years. But they are unwatchable at times. The chemistry just wasn't there, and worse, the effort sometimes just wasn't there.

I'm confident it would be different this season.

We had horrible offensive droughts when the pick and pop got neutralised or when our players couldn't hit their shots. You cant rely on only jumpers and especially on low percentage jumpers. You need to be able to switch your offense up sometimes.

If you have a big who can go down low and bruise his way to the basket or kick the ball to a open teammate for a high percentage 3, like Kanter can. You'll have your opponents guessing all the time.

Our offense was too predictable for our opponents. That's the reason why we had those offensive droughts. We relied too much on jumpers. That was also one of the main reasons why we didn't go to the line to often to slow our opponents down when needed.

One reason Bucks crushed us is that even when we outplayed them for 30 min., we couldn’t score enough to run away with game. We just couldn’t keep up. Our offense was bottom 25% of playoff teams.

In many ways, Kanter being bad defensively might be the key to our success. It’s time to run and gun and take advantage of our youth, our depth and athleticism to offset lack of toughness and length.

Edwards contract is one that could use cap. Or trades could still use it.

Assuming no trades, once Edwards is signed and uses it up, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kanter, Poirier happen in short order.

Then Theis last. Depending on other moves, we can jack his salary higher than reported to facilitate trades (summer or deadline).

How much could Theis possibly make?

As a 2 yr vet he can make up to 175% of last year’s salary or league average salary whichever is higher. Average is $9.2799M, so that’s much higher. We could use half that in a sign and trade now, or all of it at the deadline. The announced amount was 2 years @ $10M, so I’m assuming Daniel would accept an alteration upwards.

I had a dream Kanter wasn't one of the ten worst defensive centers in the league. Make it happen Brad.

Easiest way for that to happen is to sign 10 kindergarten kids to play centre.
I'm irrationally hopeful he realises this is his chance to be an 'every-down' centre on a good team and will do something useful at the defensive end. Even if it's just to be board-dominant.

Stevens may have ultimately failed the Kyrie test, but how will he do this season challenged for the first time to maximize a guy like Kanter in his O--and minimize him in his D?
