If you take a step back and look at the landscape of the league over the past few weeks and what these teams are doing to land a superstar, it becomes really hard to complain about this very much.

Are you really looking at that roster and thinking, "Oh, they'll make the playoffs." They're not good enough and that'll be obvious quickly. Jrue Holiday is the piece that doesn't fit with that core and makes the most sense to move with the monetary commitment involved in his deal.

If it helps keep Giannis, I'm all for it considering the opportunity cost of last man on bench. Still need to improve the bench tho. Avery Bradley, Simmons, RHJ etc

I want to keep Giannis happy, but I hate when this type of stuff happens. Yes, I think Thanasis will be good for Giannis’s mental health, but it puts the Bucks in a super pickle. Takes up a roster spot and puts the Bucks in an absolute no-win situation if they ever have release or trade him.

Lets hope Bud is the coach Thanasis needs to turn into Bruce Bowen. Just hit that corner 3 at a half decent clip and play your heart out trying to stop the other teams wings. He can stick if he can do that just like Bowen finally did after about 6yrs of being a 10mpg terd when he started in the league.

Bucks would sign Giannis' mom to a 10-day if it meant he stayed long term.

In all seriousness, this is a bad look for Giannis. I am 100% sure Giannis told them to do this. Why? They could've signed Thanasis for the last few years if they really wanted him on his ability alone. And give him a 2-year deal when every other team wouldn't even offer a summer league roster spot to him? Bad look for Giannis and Bucks on this one.

While I agree, you have to imagine there was some kind of internal conversation about the possible scenarios at play here.

For all we know it could have been Giannis asking for a favor to allow his brother to improve his game practicing, traveling and playing every day at the NBA level with the expectation that the team still comes first.

It reads like a PR move, but I also have a ton of faith in Horst and trust he knows what he’s doing.
