Pau was a hall of famer who everyone said was great to have around and receive wisdom from. Tangible value. He also got hurt. Apples and oranges. Thanasis is neither a wise vet, developmental prospect nor capable contributor.

They have no sources within the organization, which has been a problem with local sportswriters for years. Breaking stories used to be why people got into journalism in the first place; now, it’s sadly about locker room access and pre-game buffets. I really have no idea what value the local people add at all. On the broadcast side, watch a local newscast. It’s an utter joke.

The one tangible basketball benefit I could see is if Thanasis spends a significant time as the Herd's glue guy. Oshkosh Andre Iguodala. It's in the Bucks best interest to maintain one of the best environments in the league and Thanasis & Rayjohn Tucker dunking while the team is winning would do the trick. It's be a really positive thing for the franchise/that community if the Herd were really good and made a deep playoff run.

Makes no difference, he can still be assigned. Might even help him improve his game for his next Euro contract.

Yup, Nehm in particular has no insight beyond talking to the players in the locker room. I think he thinks they're his friends.

People go too extreme here and act like Thanasis is the worst player to have ever played; I've noticed people even do it to Wood, DDV, even DJ too. The guy has played in the league before and did as well as Bonzi Colson at least in the d-league, he's not just some total scrub off the streets. Thanasis on the Herd would probably be good for business too.
