Westbrook is subtraction by addition by means of self-destruction.

Re: So how are you feeling now?
I am feeling relieved and optimistic. After the draft night debacle I had serious concerns about whether the job was too big for Brand and then his statement that all would become clear made me even more nervous that he was just a cliche machine with nothing to back it up. Regardless of how you feel about his plan, he had one and he successfully executed it.
I am optimistic because I see the plan for Brand and I am okay with it. Would I have liked JImmy to stay? Absolutely, but I also don't know what it was like internally with him. I also like that Simmons seems locked into working on his craft this summer whereas last year he just seemed to goof-off. Embiid already looks like he's trimmed down. I think Richardson and Tobias are going to have elevated games once we scheme plays and playstyle for them. I like what I see out of Zhaire and Thybulle and yet again our scouting department seems to have found a second round prospect in Shayock.
There's a lot to be excited about with some questions still lingering. With good health and continuinty there is no reason why this team shouldn't be a favorite to go to the FInals.

I’m pumped to watch this team, I think people have forgotten 2 seasons ago the 16 game winning streak we had with Embiid being injured for part of it and we went to the 2nd round and lost to Horford hahaha
Now swap Dario for Horford, Covington for Richardson and Harris for Redick and you’ve gotten better at every position!
Embiid being healthy and Simmons having a jump shot will be what makes us hold up that trophy in the end but this team as is, is constructed for the finals

I don't think we will win NBA championship. Clippers are better. I think we overpaid Al and Harris.
The problem I see is we do not have a quality backup PG. As Ben is not a good free throw shooter you cannot hand ball to him in crunch time. The opposing team will foul him and if he cannot convert free throws we have a big problem. It would have been better if we had targeted a PG and had ben slide to PF role in crunch time.

If Simmons still won't have a jumps hot, everley would guard him and Ben won't do **** even though he is like twice as tall.nycphils wrote:The flip side is how do the Clippers guard the Sixers?
George and Kawhi would blanket Horford and Simmons for sure, and Beverly might be able to check Richardson, but he’s giving up 5 inches, but Shamet on Harris? Kawhi helping off Simmons, obviously, but Harrell or Zubac on Embiid? Good luck.

Russell Westbrook might break the NBA season record for assists if he became a Sixer. He averaged 11 assists, 11 rebounds, 22 points last season with a bad OKC team. Westbrook is the breakdown playmaking guard that takes the pressure off of everyone else. At the end of games he is going for the throat instead of hiding in a corner.
Get Russell Westbrook NOW!!!!!
Russell Westbrook makes the Sixers prohibitive favorites for the NBA Title the next 3-4 years.

Safe answer is no. Because both lacks experience while Lou got a lot of veteran tricks up his sleeve

Disagree...we currently have the best starting five In the league imo and the clippers have no-one who can defend Joel. And Joel going off every night is a recipe for disaster because he lifts every around him on both sides of the floor.

Now he's on the Clippers I have a feeling We're the 2020 Champs.
Ben will make a big leap.
Zaire and Mathisse will be key contributors on defense.
Embiid's health will be much better.
Plus getting Korver will be massive.
We're so tall and interchangeable in every position.
embiid better need to improve his big man fundamental skills other than play like harden

Career .490 true shooting in the playoffs, apparently some people can.
Love Lou but he's generally been a bit of a parlor trick. Had a good series this year though, but even that was in part because of all of those small guards the Warriors played. Length definitely gives him trouble.

We will go as far as Embiid's health takes us. If he is sick or his knee is injured again this year in the playoffs we wont win it all.
We need a rested, in game shape Joel heading into the playoffs so he can be his dominate self. They cant win with him out of game shape taking 7 shots and scoring less than 15 pts in playoff games.
Load management is key but that is a tricky balance and easier said than done.

Re: So how are you feeling now?
I am feeling great. The other night on ESPN a graphic compared the roster at the start of 2018 to 2019. The Sixers have Richardson, Harris and Horford in place of Covington, Saric and Redick. That's a massive upgrade overall.
They were process guys but fans were clinging on a little too much and not facing the shortcomings. The two cogs in Biid + Ben continuing to improve will still be pivotal. But they are ready to do some damage.
I've said it before and I'll say it again but the Horford 97m contract is being talked about too much. Let's talk about everything he will bring to the squad. The more I think about the ways he will impact the game for this Sixers team the more excited I get.
Not to mention the bench will be improved and who knows what the buyout or trade market looks like come February.

The 76ers have such a great opportunity here it almost seems to good to be true. The only team that concerns me at this time is the Clippers. But not even them, in their current form. But because the Clippers still have so many good players, on good contracts, they can still upgrade weaknesses and matchup with the 76ers, like Toronto did at the deadline. The Bucks are tapped out. They aren't going to go anywhere near the tax to improve, and I'll eat my hat if a starting backcourt of Bledsoe and Wes Matthews takes a team to the Finals.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

He'll have the keys quite a bit this year and get his chances, I'm just not sure he has enough tools and tricks to be a lead guy. He can definitely get better at creating separation and drilling midrange shots (he's a legit elite midrange shooter) but his weakness driving in and drawing contact seems like it's pretty permanent. He either gets to the cup and finishes or gets forced to take bad/tough angles, and short of that he's stuck taking contested jumpers. I think he can be solid and definitely better than last year's canned version of himself, but I just don't see him becoming a real go-to guy down the stretch.
That said, I think that him being our main half-court initiator is going to unlock a lot of interesting drive-kick stuff that we've been lacking the past couple years. Having a Harris-Embiid or Harris-Horford pn'r as our main weapon means we can always get the defense rotating, and with guys like Richardson and Horford we can be a much better ball movement team and work our way into good open looks in ways we struggled to the last couple years. I'm excited to see the team working a little more fluidly in that way, instead of the handoffs and back-cuts offense that got so frustratingly stagnant so often last year.

Zhaire and Thybulle have good wing spans. Both could be defensive specialists like Avery Bradley.
Simmons, Richardson, Ennis, Zhaire, Thybulle, and Shake should provide enough competition for a good rotation.

The Clippers are great. We all know this but they have two glaring weaknesses
1) Their frontcourt. Jo and Big Al will have their way with Zubac /Harrell / whoever on both sides of the floor. There is no rim protector here and we have two of the best bigs in the league.
2) Glaring lack of playmaking. As much flak as he gets, Lowry was the engine of the Raptors offense and it was noticeably worse when he wasn't on the court. Kawhi is not a pick & roll player. Lou is the closest thing they have to a facilitator, but he's looking to score 90% of the time.
This will be their demise if they face us.
