PG/SG = backcourt.
SF/PF/C = frontcourt.

Still a very valid point. Who is playing their 4/5?

I look at KL and PG as wings and I consider those backcourt versus the more traditional definition.

I've not thought of traditional positions in my perspective for a while now. I view players as point, combo, wing, stretch big and post big.

I know they have Kabengele and Montrezl. A Euro big maybe as well?

That defense frightens me, man. And the offense has so much potential.

Team did everything right, they won the bloody championship - and still couldn't keep their own free agent. You can't like their chances to get any free agents stars any time soon.

Poor souls will talk about their only championship 70 years from now. "the day we got a star who left as soon as he possibly could".

The only one I don’t feel sorry for is Masai Ujiri. The guy lied straight to DeRozan’s face and then gets called the best GM in the league for a rather lucky championship. Under normal circumstances, they would’ve lost and his gamble could have backfired.

Fun facts :
- The Miami Heat surpassed the Knicks in championships
- Only the Lakers, Bulls, Celtics and Spurs have more championships

I know. 16/17 Dray was a monster. Way better than current PG or Kiwi. + Iggy(age 32), Klay and Durant(in their primes), solid team defenders like Livingston, Curry and Zaza. Ooouf.

18/19 Raps were slightly worse

Would take Clippers right now. Im not in love with Dray as a defender.

Was thinking the Bulls trio of Jordan, Pippen and Rodman is my clear number one though.

Kawhi was an isolated case who decided he was going back to LA before the season even started. Nothing was going to change that. He would've done the same thing to 27 other teams not located in LA

I still stand correct about what I said.
Give me the name of a big superstar signing for the Raps apart from Kawhi? None and this is the problem. There was no plan B for this summer, the name of Toronto was not named in any big free agent. He was making Toronto a legitimate destination.
Just put Kawhi aside because it was a unique opportunity. Who is going to sign there ? It's not a jab or whatever, just the sad reality. I don't know if people are going to understand what i meant

So yes the taxes, the weather, the exposure,...

I wasn't saying your full post wasn't correct, just that I don't agree with the Kawhi situation being another example of stars leaving the Raps first chance they get, or this situation reinforcing the point of the Raps being unable to retain their stars. I'm just saying this was a one-off case, and would've also happened to most other teams.

What you're saying about big superstar signing with the Raps is true, but that's a problem with most teams in the league anyways. If you're not a big market team in the US, you're having the same problem. When's the last time a team like Utah, or Charlotte, or Indiana etc for example, made a "big superstar" signing like you're saying? It seems like markets like LA/NY/Miami/Chicago/Boston etc are the only ones involved in those, for the most part.

I know this isn't an example of "big superstars" signing with Toronto, but at least we were able to keep our stars in Demar and Lowry, when they were free agents. It's gotta be some sort of movement right, albeit a very small one :)

Pretty much. He loved everything about Toronto, had the most expressive season in all his seasons combined in Spurs

But at the end of the day, his heart was always in LA. Just glad he didn't go to the Lakers. But La nonetheless.

Reminds of how we were tooth and nail on singing bron back in 2014 when his heart was always going back home to win a chip.

At least you guys got 4 years outta Brun. One year and not being able to run it back kinda sucks :(

Wonder if whi will be able to load manage on the clips though. He'll probably miss our medical staff

That’s the job. You don’t think Pat told Eddie Jones you are going to be the face of this team. We are going to win a championship, the he gets traded and we win our first ring. GM lie, that’s the job. I don’t see anything wrong with what Masai did. How many players that choked in the playoffs did we get rid off, Mashburn, Eddie Jones are the first to pop in my mind.

Nah.

He got 4 years out of Wade and the Heat. Guy froze when it mattered until a fair way into our tutelage.
