Ohhh. I'll add some explanation later if I have the time. Don't really want to vote on some of the categories because I haven't really thought about them and, as I explained on the poy thread, it's already been hard enough for me to settle on a number one for POY this year. I have a feeling it will be a lot easier next year...

Player of the Year

1) Kawhi Leonard
2) Giannis Antetokounmpo
3) James Harden
4) Stephen Curry
5) Nikola Jokic

Defensive Player of the Year

1) Rudy Gobert
2) Joel Embiid
3) Draymond Green (giving a lot of weight to playoffs here, obvs)

Rookie of the Year

1) Luka Doncic
2) Trae Young
3) D. Ayton

Sixth Man of the Year

1) Lou Williams
2) Domantas Sabonis
3) Montrezl Harrell

Coach of the Year

1) Mike Budenholzer
2) Nick Nurse
3) Greg Poppovich

My vote:

POY:
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
2. Steph Curry
3. Kawhi Leonard
4. James Harden
5. Kevin Durant

Honorable Mention: Jokic, Embiid, George, Lillard, Green

At one point I had Kawhi at #1 but my current assessment is that his supporting cast and coach just outperformed Giannis & Steph's teams. Had Kawhi been ranked ahead of those guys to me before the playoffs I wouldn't have elevated them ahead of Kawhi, but I think I fell victim to winning bias when I initially elevated him to the top spot.

Really wanted to give it to Jokic, but Durant gets the 5 spot because the other guys who could have passed him after his injury didn't do enough.

OPOY
1. Steph Curry
2. James Harden
3. Nikola Jokic

Completely understand people who have Harden ahead of Curry, but I just think Curry's better and I have a hard time holding him taking a less showy role for the good of the team when I see clear cut proof that he can still alpha better than Harden.

Love Jokic so much. I'd really like to be able to champion him for the #1 spot but I'm not there yet.

DPOY
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
2. Rudy Gobert
3. Paul George

I think Giannis has the ideal build for the current game, and he did led the best defense in the league with all the indicators of being the anchor. Gobert's a worthy candidate of course I'm going to go with Giannis here.

ROY
1. Luka Doncic
2. Trae Young
3. Jaren Jackson

Excited for Luka & Trae.

MIP
1. Pascal Siakam
2. De'Aaron Fox
3. D'Angelo Russell

Pascal is definitely my guy here. I think Russell is a good candidate but not nearly as improved as he is just a guy who gets a chance to do his thing and manages to get named all-star.

I'm always reluctant to seriously consider 2nd year players, but I can't deny Fox improved a lot.

6MOY
1. Lou Williams
2. Domantas Sabonis
3. Fred VanVleet

Forgot about FVV up front. He's a good choice. btw, I'm going to count the Ibaka votes, but he started most the year so to me he doesn't qualify despite the fact that he came off the bench during the title run.

Lou Williams, by the way, is on his way to becoming the archetype of what a 6th man is. There have been better 6th man - Ginobili, Harden - but no 6th man has ever felt like more of a 6th man than Lou.

COY
1. Nick Nurse
2. Mike Budenholzer
3. Doc Rivers

Nurse took this award with the way he out maneuvered Bud in their series.

EOY
1. Masai Ujiri
2. Jon Hurst
3. Lawrence Frank

I feel a little skittish about Masai at the top spot. The truth is that had Toronto lost in Philadelphia he doesn't get this spot. I think though that the reality is that a GM's impact is always shaped by player performance and team achievement. He clearly made moves so that a title was a serious possibility and the team came through. I love the boldness of firing the COY to promote a superior underling and I love how he managed to get out of the DeRozan era. The Gasol acquisition sure worked out well too.

I've been a skeptic of Masai, but I now see him as a clear cut force.

Just saw this as I was tallying up the votes we have.

Sure, let's do it. Let's say we move the deadline back a week through Sunday.

Alright, I'm calling it.

Here's a spreadsheet with counted votes for all the awards along with share values.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MBPjmagr91KOtL3f0bz3pqtrgU52si26Fuv0CJZlzLA/edit?usp=sharing

I'm going to type below the parts that I think most will be most interested in:

Winners:
POY - Kawhi Leonard (barely over Giannis)
OPOY - James Harden
DPOY - Rudy Gobert (repeats as DPOY)
ROY - Luka Doncic (unanimous, first non-POY unanimous we've had since we started those in '14-15)
MIP - Pascal Siakam
6MOY - Lou Williams (repeats as 6MOY, barely beat teammate Montrezl)
COY - Nick Nurse (barely beat Bud)
EOY - Masai Ujiri

Where's the spreadsheet with the all-time POY shares?

Nick Nurse over Bud is borderline indefensible. Lou Williams, arguably a vet min level impact guy, over a guy like Iguodala?

It would be hard to pick Bud over Nurse considering Nurse out coached him in the playoffs en route to a title.

As far as Lou, I don’t think you’re being fair here. He was a top 2 offensive player on a low seeded playoff team. Iggy wasn’t better by a huge enough margin in the time he was actually healthy in the postseason to justify throwing out an entire season’s worth of Lou being better, including his huge series against GSW themselves.
