Frank isn’t beating out Elf or Smith at PG. He’s not beating out RJ at SG or Knox at SF.

The only way he cracks the rotation is if he beats out Trier and Dot and Ellington at SG or Bullock at SF. Seems highly doubtful.

On the bright side, fan expectations are finally super low so there’s no chance of disappointment and only a chance of pleasant surprise.

SOULD AUTOPOST THIS VIDEO AT EVERY PAGE OF THIS THREAD !!!!

one of his best points is style of play. doris and mark were talking about this last night. GS and SA play read-and-react basketball. guys have to be capable of this. i'm amazed at how many players can't read and react.

“I’m happy to be a Knick,’’ Ntilikina said Sunday in his first comments since April while dropping by the Knicks’ 105-100 overtime summer league loss to the Suns. “I still take as much as I can get from every situation. I’m still in a Knick jersey. I’m happy to be here. I work very hard to make this situation successful.’’
Ndiaye encouraged Ntilikina to join Team France’s training camp later this month and play in the World Cup. Ntilikina didn’t sound like he was a lock, though, to play beyond the exhibition season.

“I’m looking forward to it,’’ he said. “It’s [down to] the last 17 [players]. If coach wants me, I’m definitely excited about that. I’m going in there to prove I belong on the team.’’

Fellow Knicks rookie is silver lining to another RJ Barrett dud
After the regular season ended April 11, Ntilikina spent nearly two months in France before coming back to the U.S. in mid-June and has been practicing in Dallas, according to a source.
It’s been going great,’’ Ntilikina said. “I’m happy about it. I’m trying to get rhythm. I’m working a lot and happy where I am right now. [I’m working on] everything — my body, how I handle the ball and being where I’m comfortable moving around with the ball and without. I’ll do everything to try to be successful.”

Ntilikina was set to meet Barrett after Sunday’s game.

“I’m excited about meeting him,’’ Ntilikina said. “He’s very talented. Has a lot of potential. Otherwise he wouldn’t be here. The sky’s the limit for him.”

I disagree here, I feel like with Trier, Barrett and Knox (lesser degree) all being ball dominant there's more of a role for him at PG provided he defends and is aggressive shooting threes when open. The Derek Fisher, Mario Chalmers, Pat Bev etc type of PG is more in line with what playmaking wings pair with. There's less pressure for him to create off the dribble and his game could be reduced to catch and shoot/attack and defend. Dennis was traded in large part because he couldn't play with Luka, so how is he going to play with RJ who isn't as polished at this point in time.

Agree to disagree on the PG situation. Alfred is better at every aspect except defense, where he’s still passable. There’s just no way (barring injury) Smith and Payton don’t split the entire game at PG.

Other than injury or trade to DSJ/Alf, Frank’s only real shot to play is off the bench as a backup wing. I could see it if our defense is a real issue or if he ups his catch/shoot numbers to Bullock/Dot levels.

Although frankly I think Dot is benched too. Can’t play 12 guys.

The issue here is that what Frank provides are not the things that Fiz values from the position. Fizdale prioritizes attacking and putting pressure on the defense way more than defense and facilitation from the position.

We also don't know if Frank has progressed enough on the offensive end to at least break even on that end yet.

The man will always be on the floor in the last 2 minutes of a game for defensive purposes. Dotson and Trier are in contract years, Bullock is what he is at this point. Decisions will have to be made going forward and everyone is going to be fighting for time out there. The cream will rise

I’m still rootin for Frank i hope he can at least make a noticeable improvement this season. Every young team needs a guy like him, solid work ethic and brings defense to the table. His scoring might never get there but he’s still incredibly young so we’ll see.

I know the warriors have to trade livingston by tommorow july 10 2019 or his contract of 7 million dollars gets guaranteed, I would trade frank to the warriors for livingston contract its saves the warriors 3 million dollars against the hard cap. Then i would trade livingston contract to memphis for miles plumee of the grizzles he is a good back up big man and he is a center. The other frank trade i would do is trade him to the clippers for jerome robinson the clippers lottery pick last year 2018. Why we should trade for jerome robinson he is not going to get his chance with the clippers for playing time plus he is insurance policy if trier or dotson leave next summer in free agency. I think the clippers do that frank trade because frank is defender and can help lou williams in there second unit and the knicks just want to get rid of frank anyways plus a change of scenery would do frank good.

So you want to make other teams better and make our own worse.

Yet Frank stinks.

Yet you agree with the environment we have put him in.

Make up your mind. Or do you just want to bad mouth Frank for not being the player you want him to be? Whatever hideous being you expect....

Here the question for you dude this front office of perry, mills, and fizdale they don't like frank. When your front office, ownership, and coach doesn't like frank its over for him here nyc that's truth of the situation. Do you honestly think the knicks are going to pick up frank 6 million dollar team option this october probably not. Also frank is so behind depth chart with dsj, payton, and kadeem alan meaning a change of scenery is better for both parties.
