Alec Burks is gone. Good for both parties as there was no reason for him to stay. I don't really understand why Noel stayed.

Very young. Very good athlete. Hard worker. Could eventually become a version of Siakam or more. Doesn't have shooting or passing down yet but there is potential. Will straightline drive and power dunk. Check back in 2-3 years.

I would have taken him higher in the draft to get him. Maybe as high as 5th.

Noel could get more playing time and he's only 25. Could be good for his future.

Herro and a first would be A LOT

What first the one in 2025? I disagree. There is no reason to give him to Miami for Herro who hasn't stepped foot in a NBA game yet. I wouldn't be surprised if he is a end of the roster guy for his career.

There is no reason to rush this. The trade of Grant gives the Thunder the time to do this the right way. In an ideal world both Westbrook and Schroder would be on other rosters to start the year and guys like Gallo and Roberson and anyone who comes back from a Westbrook/ Schroder trade will be showcased for trade deadline bidding. Remember Presti likes to get multiple teams bidding for a trade. This gives him ultimate leverage.

I understand if Adams is moved, which seemed to be the direction pre-PG leaving. But now there is no reason to salary dump Adams and those minutes are probably locked up. Maybe there's a team out there for Adams but I think that probably would've happened.

Not settled yet, to my knowledge. Probably 2022.

Gottlieb was on local radio just now. Said that a source with another team who worked out Bazley said he was so bad shooting they actually suggested to him to try shooting right handed. I guess he does everything right handed but for some reason shoots the ball left handed.

Right or wrong way, we are talking about a declining superstar that will get 47 millions in his last year.

Allowing Burks, Muscala, and Noel to re-evaluate proves we won't be doing anything but going full tank. I no longer have to worry about those picks being flipped. Even if it was just a 1% shot, I was still scared.

He's under contract. Presti has to do what's best for the organization. Even if that is keeping Westbrook until December 15th.

i just don't view this as fitting sam presti's character as a person or general manager.

I agree. But, its also hard to do this w/ so many teams unable to get in the bidding.

Presti with his young assets (signed to Thunder already and just below) is still emphasizing dribble drive more than shooting.

And defensive potential based more on physique than training / intelligence / discipline.

So there is a count of 14 guys on the roster now with Burks un-signing his contract and the Grant trade.

Jerian Grant would be an interesting backup PG.

How is it possible to play basketball for so long and have guys like this a simmons?

This all feels a little surreal doesn't it? After all these years of heartbreak, hope and then mediocrity to finally see it all coming to an end. Best of luck to Westbrook. I hope he somehow gets in a situation where he can get a ring at some point, even if its just as a role player, late career addition guy like Gary Payton.

Jerian Grant got bad reviews at his last stops.

Really awful in 2 brief playoff runs.

Might not be bad as a 3rd strong PG or second on a tanking team.

Don't think you change him from a below average player.

I think I sort of understand. I'm one of these quasi-ambidextrous people myself. I do everything right handed except I hand write with my left hand. It just feels natural. Something in the wiring upstairs got short circuited I guess. It seems Simmons and Bazley have the same problem but it exhibited itself in shooting a ball.

Guys this can be a pretty quick re-build. The Thunder have 3 guys in SGA, Ferguson and Diallo that all just Turned 21. Russ and KD were 23 when they made it to the finals. I would expect this team competing in the playoffs in 21-22 and losing their 2022 First Round pick to the Hawks.

As the core going forward...?

I’d assume the cores gonna be the high picks in at least the next 3 or 4 drafts the Thunder are gonna have while rebuilding and being bad.
