Holy crap this is beginning to sound like it could actually happen. If OKC is going to give Westbrook a say I doubt it, with the negative perspective about Detroit.

If Westbrook was willing to come here, I would offer Drummond, Jackson, Galloway and Snell for Westbrook and Adams.

The downside is that we'd have Svi as our starting small forward. The upside is we get a better look at the youngsters and one may emerge.

I think I'd take the chance as long as we keep our youngsters and picks. It would make the Blake Griffin era interesting.

Respected by who?

I guess he broke the Jimmy Butler deal before it went National and Miami Heat fans seem to value his position. Not sure who he is or who he knows. But I don’t think he’s just some random guy without ties to the Heat.

Why are the Knicks so high when it's actually impossible for them to deal for him right now?

I think we are going to get him. I know some of you are against it, but this would be great man. He’s not over the hill. We will be better than you think too.

Knicks can't do a deal until December 15th. I can't see OKC opening up the season with Westbrook and playing a couple months.

Yeah. Westbrook is getting moved before the season starts. How long they hold off on that depends on a lot of things. It could be within the next couple of days, or it could be a long time.

I remember the Stackhouse for Hamilton trade back in 2002 happened in mid-September after rumors of us moving him persisted all summer. So sit tight, folks, could be soon or late, no way of knowing.

We're not trading Drummond

The indications we have are that OKC is working with Westbrook's camp.

It's entirely possible we called and Russ doesn't want to come here. The Thunder do have the power to deal him anywhere they want (he does NOT have a no trade clause), but if they're working with him they presumably are making an effort not to do that.

Does anyone know if he has a trade kicker? A 15% trade kicker would really make a huge (and negative) difference for anyone dealing for him.

Or a way for him to control his destination by waiving a trade kicker if he had one. *shrug*

Adams has a trade kicker, I don't think Westbrook does.

That may very well be why they're working with him.

Can't entirely be out of the goodness of their hearts, though at first I thought it was just an effort to maintain a good image among agents and players.

When Tellem retired, Russ stayed with the same agency, just took on a new Agent. So his current agent and Tellem would have at least a professional relationship from their time at Wasserman together. Westbrook would also have a lot of trust in Arn given he trusted him with his first contracts.

NYC still makes the most sense - but they can't make a trade until the 15th. If not the Pistons I'd love him with the Knicks just for the "King of NY" battles with Durant in Brooklyn. Westbrook would need a sidekick there of course - how crazy would Draymond Green be in NYC as a UFA this off-season. He couldn't check Durant of course, but he and Durant seemed to have a weird relationship in GS.

Can be traded by himself I believe, not part of a package. But also he was traded "last season" - so that might impact the ability to trade him sooner if they can.

If we trade him though - we have dick all at SF.

As it is we'll need to go dumpster diving for vet minimum depth if we do a 3-4 for one deal. We're also hard capped because we used the non-tax payer MLE to sign Rose. We either can't go over the tax or just the tax apron, the former would be a killer, the latter gives us some breathing room.

How does it help if he can only be traded by himself? Foesnt that make the proposed deal impossible?
