Didn’t we have this conversation already?PS here’s an easy trick to remember; read it how you wrote it and if it reads incorrectly then you know that you have written it incorrectly. You wrote it percent 60, if you’d put the percentage sign after the number you would read it as 60%.

Given that we're being pedantic here:

- It is P.S., not PS, as it is an abbreviation.

- That's an incorrect use of a semicolon. A semicolon separates two interconnected clauses, with the leading clause providing context for the following clause; that isn't what you are doing there (see that?). What you are looking for is a colon, which serves in this instance as a break between an introductory clause and something like an explanation. The final sentence is a more natural place for a semicolon: "You wrote it percent 60; if you'd put the percentage sign after the number, you would read is as 60%".

His contact rate is %60 that's worse than someone like Chris Davis. Is there a site that keeps track of minor league players lefty and righty splits?

He’s raking vs lefties. Only 31 PA’s, though.

I can just hope he won’t free fall like Smith next year.

Josh Winckowski continues to impress at Dunedin. Has yet to give up a run - or much else - after 16 innings.

https://www.milb.com/milb/news/dunedin-blue-jays-josh-winckowski-extends-scoreless-streak-to-16-innings/c-308762462

After the first-inning walk, Winckowski did not get to another three-ball count. He finished with 82 pitches, 58 for strikes.

"I consider myself a strike-thrower," he said. "I give the defense a chance to make plays. It's hard to have a good outing when you're putting guys on base for free."

Orimoloye is having a pretty eye-opening run. I'd long since written him off, but he hit a HR tonight and has 6 in June/July, and his appalling K:BB ratio (he struck out 29 times in May...and didn't walk once) suddenly looks far more reasonable.

Still some distance from being a prospect of substance, but he's maybe five weeks away from looking like he might get released, so this is quite a turnaround.

Jays' Stroman out of all-star game; GM Atkins has plenty to ponder | Toronto Sun

* Will Bo Bichette be joining the Jays after the all-star break?

“He has absolutely performed at a level that deserves that question and we’re having it ourselves. It’s a balance with what’s best for him, what’s best for the team. We want Bo to continue to play shortstop and feel that he’s going to be a very good one, so we want him to play there every day. So what does that mean for Freddy Galvis? What does that mean for Brandon Drury? What does that mean for Eric Sogard? What does that mean for Vladimir Guerrero? Balancing all of that is what we’re working through."

* Which players have emerged that you can envision building around?

“When you call out one, you’re eliminating another so it’s always a slippery slope but the recent performance of Lourdes Gurriel has been exceptional. He’s been one of the better players in the game, his outfield play has been awesome. Cavan Biggio, his transition was as seamless as you could possibly ask. He’s almost identical to the player that he was in the minor leagues and the power’s there, the plate discipline is elite. Along with Danny Jansen and his progress recently, I think their plate discipline helps other hitters in our lineup. Eric Sogard obviously has very good at-bats. It’s coming for a lot of players and we’re really encouraged by how well Vladdy (Guerrero) has handled his transition."

* Which pitchers in the system could have some impact this year?

“(Jacob) Waguespack, (Thomas) Pannone and then (Ryan) Borucki is a start or two away from being back in the fold. All the names that we talked about before, (Julian) Merryweather and (T.J.) Zeuch, we’ll see with Patrick Murphy and the progress that he makes and the adjustment that he had to make seems to be going exceptionally well. And Yennsy Diaz has pitched better as of late, Hector Perez has pitched better as of late. There’s some pieces that have been on and off of our major-league team that could be back here this year.”

Bo Bichette was 3-5 again last night, I believe he has raised his average to .319 with a .381 OBP. I don't really care what they do with Eric Sogard. He was an afterthought signing who has outperformed all of his career stats, and just let him go to a team which needs hi,. The prospect return will be marginal, but management has no reason not to bring Bo up and play him every day, with Freddy Galvis serving as backup at three positions. Or move an outfielder and make Drury the OF reserve, but just figure it out by the end of July.

Freeze-frame it about halfway to the plate.

He's also now into the BA top 20, at 16.

The freeze-frame at 0:03 is filthy. He's got ace stuff.

Likely the best pure stuff in the minors, if you factor in his control. Command isn't always there, but 100 with the ability to get your fastball over most of the time adds a bit of margin for error.

Really, the only question with Pearson is durability. If he can throw 90 pitches every five days (even without airing it out to 100% he has top-tier velocity and movement) without his arm falling off, he's an ace or close to it.

Miguel Hiraldo's off to a good start in Bluefield. 3 HRs in 18 games and in his last nine games, he has struck out just twice while picking up 16 hits.

Some more good stuff in the low minors: Steady performances from Kloffenstein at Vancouver and Pardhino at Lansing. Our last top signee from the first 10 rounds - eighth rounder Phil Clarke, the Vandy catcher, hitting .500 with two homers in four games for Vancouver

Correction on Clarke: it's actually 2 HRs in 2. And he's 3 for 3 with a double tonight. If he can catch long-term -- and most of the reports on his catching seemed solid given that he's quite new to the position -- he'll certainly be one to watch.

Our collection of catching talent is quite something at the moment.

Reading Shi Davidi’s article from yesterday, he said Bo Bichette should be up within the next few weeks.

He's certainly forcing the issue. He's also the last young player we'll likely see promoted permanently this season. Alford can't remain healthy long enough to force the issue, and the Jays' outfield right now is not in bad shape. The pitching starts at New Hampshire. From Buffalo, Zeuch is an outside possibility, and SRF? Who knows? He had some nice moments with the Jays, then went back to Buffalo and got knocked around a bit.
