For some reason Bucks were one of the teams listed at the Stoudemire/Monta workout.

Everyone was in Vegas for Summer league that day.
Bud, Wes, His wife and daughters, Scouts, Son and Father Lasry, Horst. They were likely just doing their due diligence.

I’d like to imagine their commentary was lj

1+1 does not equal 3.

The two moves are unequivocally connected. One doesn't happen without the other so you must look at them together.

Frank making me feel like the Bucks really **** up using the trade exception on the most recent LOB. He and his cap guru contacts have really been the only resource on the subject to this point. Bummer.

So anyone want to go out on a limb and predict Wes Matthews will have a Brook Lopez kind of resurgence here, or some other surprise internal improvement?

Our offseason last year felt similarly underwhelming.

Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

Horst certainly could be letting his Executive Of the Year award get to his head while LED focus on not paying luxury tax and hoping our team bro'ing out will distract from the talent-downgrade jettisoning Brogdon.

I'm out on that Donte limb, I'm just worried about his health. Lots of good guards in that class and he will be one of them.

Same here. I think if health wasn't such a factor right now, Donte would have an excellent shot at being a starter, despite his lackluster shooting from last year (I think he's much better than what he showed in that regard).

Big difference if Bud / Horst / Suki have a lot of confidence in Donte vs if they don't.

Similarly with Sterling Brown who is entering a contract year.

If the plan is for either of them to become a starter then Wes Matthews in theory could be a placeholder.

Could also imagine George Hill taking the reigns as a starter.

Bledsoe certainly needs a steady hand next to him -- especially come playoff time.

Either way seems like the Bucks could use a 3rd PG since both Hill and Bledsoe haven't been the healthiest over their careers.

Or is that Donte?

I think you're absolutely correct in your assumption on Wes. I think he's the placeholder for this year or at least half year until Donte is ready to take over. I don't get the sense they consider Sterling in the same way and I think he'll have a longer journey to overtake a starting spot, imo.

The more I think about it the more I could see Hill starting if we don't make another significant move.

Donte could then focus on being more of a sparkplug guy off the bench.

Wes tore his achillies and is on the minimum so expecting him to start is a lot (barring a BroLo-caliber reawakening).

Someone like Korver could more easily come off the bench for a few mins then to just shoot 5 quick 3's defense-be-damned as well.

We need more ballhandlers whether or not Donte can be one.

Still need 3rd string PG and C

Ersan is a C
And DDV is the best SG on the roster currently.

He tore his achilles 4 years ago and he's averaged 33 MPG and 70 starts a season since then. I don't think starting him for 20-25 MPG is asking too much.

Why hasn’t Korver happened yet? Figured it would happen as soon as he cleared waivers. Maybe he’s deciding which place he wants to go?

Could also be that he's only being offered the minimum and he's waiting to see if a team will give him a bigger deal?

What was Donte's injury that kept him out for so long and is he going to be ready for the start of the season?

Bilateral heel bursitis in his left foot and Horst said he's healthy but didn't need to compete in summer league because they know he is already good enough and they don't want to risk anything.
