No one knows for sure. In theory probably removing the protection on Miami’s first as that makes it potentially a #1 pick since they should be terrible then. Maybe a 2022 unprotected 1st from Detroit who should be terrible given Russ’s decline with Blake’s injuries and age.

Best prospect available us probably Sekou, but there is a strong argument for Herro.

If Phoenix is in there foolishly bidding then their picks might be the best assets. Minny picks could arguably be better than Detroit/Miami, especially if Minny keeps Wiggins.

I kind of like the protection on the Miami pick, because it becomes unprotected in 2026, if the Heat are lottery teams in 23, 24, & 25.

I think what Sam wants in a Russ deal is some picks in the double draft (first year HS are allowed in the draft). This looks like it will occur in 2022 and its likely both of our picks will be gone with ATL (lottery protected first) and PHI (2nd's in 22 and 23 if we keep out 2020 pick). That's at least what we should be targeting. As we get closer to that draft date those picks will be super valuable.

A 2022 First Round Pick might be the best asset that's on the table.
