OKC already has 2 PGs(SGA and Schroder) and probably don't want to cause issues having a 3rd where all of them should be getting time. Someone's going to have to sit and more than likely that would be the guy who isn't going to be there very long (which would devalue him to just and expiring, he's got more value than that).

Well technically the depth chart has SGA as the starting two guard along side Westbrook. My guess is Dragic would just slide into Westbrook's role no? Would seem like a decent three guard rotation. Looking at OKC's roster they could even be competitive with a starting lineup of Adams, Muscala, Gallo, SGA, and Dragic.

Just take Dragic and a combination of Johnson/Waiters/Olynyk and DJJR and get it done already. You have a player who gave you his blood, sweat and tears for 10 + years. You don't drag this out to send him to a team he does not want to go to. We can offer cap relief for them along with their draft picks they got from LA. Trust me when I say players have their eyes on this and will factor this when OKC comes calling to meet with free agents. #****

The Clippers traded Blake not even 6 months into his contract and got Kawhi and PG. OKC is not a free agent destination, the only thing that FA will factor is getting paid. This is a business, the Celtics treat players like assets and still got people to sign up let’s not kid ourselves. OKC will do what’s in their best interest. If we don’t pay the asking price, someone else will. Let’s not kid ourselves.

I think you guys will be fine. Biggest hiccup was not keeping Russ/Harden/Durant but a very good drafting record and you guys will have cap space. The PG trade gave ya'll like 5-7 picks lol.

Yeah or try to reload now, they take those assets and go after another star or 2, like try to make an offer Washington can't refuse for Beal then try to get K.Love. How about seeing how many 1st round picks Minnesota can say no to for Towns?

Think our main issue was coaching and role players (injuries didn't help) but whatever :)

Yep Presti is good at drafting but has no clue how to build a roster. Hope Pat Riley will surround Westbrook with some shooters!

We traded Grant, which means we are rebuilding. He was basically the only good player that was ''underpaid''

We could still be decent with Dragic though but don't think the goal is to compete :)

I have this idea that small market OKC's owner might be just looking at saving a buck or two after going all on the last few years. Build threw the draft without having over paid stars on the team. That's just my opinion thought. I think the hold up right now is finding a third team to take on someone like KO cause most likely his contract needs to be included in this deal. Since OKC has Adams and Noel already at center that would seem to be the spot they have little to no use having another center getting 12 million.

I kinda wonder if OKC traded Grant with the idea that Gallinari plays PF or maybe acquire(in the Westbrook deal) a cheaper guy to replace him, like Derrick Jones Jr.

I mean a guard rotation of SGA, Dragic and Schroder looks pretty damn decent on paper. Toss in some Ferguson and you guys are not looking so bad. PF looks or SF would seem to be spots that could use upgrade. Getting Winslow to play SF and moving Gallo to PF looks almost too ideal at the moment.

C Steven Adams
PF Danilo Gallinari
SF Justise Winslow
SG SGA
PG Goran Dragic

That's a healthy looking squad with two massive expirings next year in Gallo and Dragic.

Well, outside of Ibaka, Presti has not been very good at drafting outside the lottery. His reputation lives off the Durant/Westbrook/Harden lottery drafts.

What?
Reggie Jackson 24th
Adams at 12 was a nice pick later in the lottery
Ibaka at 24
T.Ferguson 21st
Evan way back trading the 26th pick for Thabo Sefolosha was a nice move.

Let us keep Winslow and Herro (plus Bam) and send over Gallinari and we will definitely be surrounding Westbrook with shooters

I actually like him but y’all act like he’s next Wade when he will at best be Dan Majerle

Winslow's more likely to be dealt because of the salary we would have to match to equal Westbrook. But I rather use the likes of Dragic, Olynk, Waiters, JJ. People who probably don't have a future with us... Dragic definitely doesn't. He will bolt for Dallas when he's free.

here go the twitter titos again. Miami Herald's new article basically states this, that the Heat don't want to give up Bam/Herro..

Can you link me to the Miami Herald article? I don't have a herald subscription and my free views ran out.

Yeah since 2013 (Adams at n°12) the best pick we had was the 14th. All others were 20+ so it doesn't help.

We will see now...

Return to Miami Heat
