It's actually funny because back in the days, when BBallFreak and Lane were head mods of the Heat board, the consensus was that Barry Jackson was a clown and shouldn't be taken seriously. No lie: if you had posted a rumor by Barry Jackson, people would be calling you out.

But now, people think he's a legit source.

I'm not sure what happened in between, but I thought that was funny and weird how things changed.

Yeah lol. I had to create this account because I couldn't remember the SN and email to my old account. But I joined during 02-03 playoffs and have been on and off ever since. I was here for Beasley and the Big 3 offseason, but I quit watching basketball after game 1 against the Spurs the year we lost to them.

Meh to me.

Keep the youth and it's a really reasonable and exciting plan. Be real competitive for 2 years (maybe 3) with the upside half of the Butler and Westbrook deals. Having growing youth in a supporting but increasing role around them. Who knows how well we can do in years 1 & 2. Wouldn't be at all surprised with ECF appearance. I would expect to feel like we can compete with anyone in the playoffs even if we're not the favorites. Maybe we catch fire and have a magic run. Regardless, the young guys get to grow, they get to compete in playoff basketball.

Year 4 i don't have expectations for as much, but I expect to still have Winslow, Bam, Herro, KZ and Nunn (if he proves solid rotation piece). Maybe we're a first round exit with Russ and JB being 34 years old and taking up all our cap. We still got our youth and cheap surrounding pieces.

2023 offseason comes around. We (presumably) have a 26 year old Justise Winslow playing his best basketball, a 25 year old Bam playing high level bball and still emerging, a 23 year old Herro, a 24 year old KZ, and a metric **** ton of capspace. We go big whale hunting with an enticing young core with playoff experience and ready to compete.

This plan gives us a clear path forward and that is honestly one of my favorite things about it.

Thought the tweet was funny though. WB gonna be Westbroken by then, and that contract is going to be insane. Like you said though, it's about making the most of now, and this would let us compete for real now, instead of working that 13th/14th pick.

I'm afraid it's going to be Winslow. I don't want him dealt but he makes a lot of sense on that OKC roster next to Gallo.

I don't think OKC care that much about roster composition and fit and all that at this point but I agree that Winslow has to be the one that they want.

Counting on Miami to surround Brodie with great shooters, on Spo/Riley to coach him and and give him a championship!! He deserves it and a good coach/big franchise can help him.

If his knees are ok (big if though) you guys won't be disappointed. He will always give you 100% and that's you want to see as a fan. His BBIQ improved greatly despite what everyone says (he had to take a step back for PG13 to shine and be in the MVP conversation).

As an OKC fan I still hope some asset back but I don't think it will happen :p

Herro looks nice in summer league but Winslow has a lot of NBA level qualities that you'd much appreciate.
