A non guarantee contract in JR Smith, who they can cut as well as an expiring at the end of this year in Tragic gets them out of salary cap hell fast. This is a no brainer for OKC, I think Riley knows it but has to wait out the "Lets see if we can get more out of Miami" thinking that they may have.
I believe the J.Grant trade gets them to being ~4 million over which should be close enough to make some smaller moves during the year to get out of the luxury tax. With all the draft assets they have, they should have no problem in getting out of the tax.
