Knox did have a good game btw despite the one Zion strip that will be overplayed for the next 3 weeks. Hopefully he can do the things you said and build from here.

that strip didn't bother me so much. he should've known not to bring the ball down, but zion could do that to anyone in the NBA, including lebron.

I pay $20 American money to see that right now, deep fake or not.

Just to see the "wtf no foul" face on LeBum.

Knox looks a lot better. His game is much smoother. Needs to put in the work, but he has the tools.

He has looked a lot better.

Most important, for me though, is he's playing like he gives a ****. Didn't see that last season, and usually that translates to someone who won't get it, and doesn't belong in the NBA. Hopefully he'll keep it up

He was just too young last season. Was overwhelmed by the league. We'll see how it goes this year. He definitely has the tools.

How some were ready to give up on him after one season is STILL beyond me... but it's the Knicks fanbase so i get it. What concerns me though is that he still hasn't shown good defense and he has lapses of 'falling asleep' out there. There's NO excuse for not boxing your man out. I still hold to what I said weeks ago though - he's going to be really good. Works too hard & combined with that skill set -- he almost has to be. That Tobias Harris comparison is looking more & more accurate.

well you could tell he had tools to score. my concern was defense, but more importantly, his motor. he just never seemed to care, and that concerned me. he was communicating and trying harder - i didn't watch last night's game.

Knox needs a vet who plays his position who can mentor him.

I like his stroke man, it's pretty and it's got good arc/high release.

But boy oh boy he's slow. His future is at the 4, and he's gonna need to get stronger.

Knox looks more focused. Body language already improved from a few months ago. Hoping he carries this into the regular season.

I disagree being overwhelmed is bot indifference. The guy was a football player until he was 16. He basically played basketball 2 1/2 ~ 3 years and got drafted to the nba . Ofcourse he looked like a deer in the headlights.

Knox should be learning to play some 4. We may have too many mentors for him to get some time there

Which is why I mentioned Morris, specifically.

if he can be a catch and shoot/attack the rim player then that's a poor mans gallinari.

On offense, he needs to learn to do what Europeans do to counter being naturally slower when trying to create their own shot off the dribble...Euro Step. He has really long strides which also compensates for it. But yeah defensively he's definitely a PF. You want him closer to the basket to challenge and alter shots and not trying to chase wing players around the perimeter.

As far as getting stronger, he already does look like he's added some noticeable muscle to his upper body.

That's been my comparison for Knox since last year. He's got a pretty quick first step and gets into the paint pretty easily like Gallo but has to keep up not being afraid to make contact. This summer league was really the first time I've seen him crash into guys with the purpose of drawing a foul.

Yeah, on offense with a head of steam he's fine. But this guy gets buried on every pick and roll, he gets stuck on everything or goes under and it's a nightmare in today's NBA. He has to be guarding 4s.
