My only question is Darrell Mack what are you doing in the offseason to break your ankle? No there's no way he's ready for week 1.

Rumor has it he was playing basketball which is a big no no. I also thought Wimbush would edge out Mack but now it's his job Quadry Jones has very little experience and Dillon Gabriel is a true freshman.

I don’t think it’s a given Wimbush gets it over our other t two guys. Dillion is crazy talented and was here for the spring. The only good news is camp hasn’t started yet so the coaches have plenty of time.

I think Wimbush gets the nod at the start of the year just based off of experience alone.

DG and QJ should get PT early on.

It’s going to be interesting.

Agreed. I think Wimbush starts and Mack will probably be "back" around the start of the season so if Wimbush isn't cutting it I wouldn't be surprised to see Mack starting by conference play.

I'd be surprised at this point if DG and QJ got in more than cleanup time unless Wimbush isn't cutting it and Mack's not healthy enough yet.

With the red shirt rules changing I can see all three getting playing time that first game

Oh no doubt. Quadry Jones threw a TD pass last year it's a certain number of plays or something like that?

Mack is a great kid with an awesome family, but I've never been that impressed by him as a passer.

Just don't think he's naturally accurate and he's also slow making multiple reads. That said, Mack is an excellent runner and can win with power and with speed. He also has a really strong arm, so he can take deep shots down the field.

The problem is... everything I just said about Mack can also be applied to Wimbush, only in a smaller, less powerful running package.

The new redshirt rule is 4 games. You can play 4 games in a given season and not burn your redshirt.

Because of that, I think Gabriel is 100% going to play the first couple of games and may even be the full time starter by Stanford.

My only real concern with Mack was that he tended to get flat footed in the pocket and it would impact his mechanics on the throw. Something definitely fixable and I imagine the QB coaches were working to correct it. I loved his ability to run, his height, and his arm strength. He just looked like a young QB with inexperience.

Mack broke his ankle, He might be out the rest of 2019. Wimbush better run away with the starting QB job cause if Wimbush gets beat out by Gabriel, Quadry or a walk on than Wimbush sucks. Wimbush doesn't become the starting QB at Notre Dame if he not good.

Is UCF allowed to sign a 4th QB now as a walk on or get a transfer QB?

That site showed his offers from 11 schools and UCF isn't on that list of those 11 schools and UCF still got him? Lol those 11 teams suck.

Broken ankle takes 6-12 weeks to recover, depending on the severity. First game is in seven weeks. So if his recovery goes well he could be back to practice right around the first game. Obviously he'll need time to get back up to speed though even in that scenario, so in theory he could be ready to go against Stanford or Pitt. Conference play is more likely (11 weeks away), though if his recovery is closer to the 12 week range he won't be back until mid season. Missing the entire season seems unlikely.

With Wimbush and now him that's two transfers from major Power 5 schools in the span of 7 or 8 months.

Robinson is going to apply for a waiver to play this season, but I doubt he will get it.

He will most likely have to sit out this year, which will be his redshirt year and come back in 2020 as a redshirt sophomore with three years of eligibility left.

Coaching staff has been doing great with recruiting. The emphasis on both lines is a welcome sight.

Oklahoma is a good team to get scheduled with. But the teams to really get scheduled with would be Duke, North Carolina, Kansas Gonzaga and Michigan.
