I definitely think RoLo is getting short changed by some. No PP.

Eh, Horst has at least bought himself a little bit of leeway/credibility at this point, so I'm still interested to see if we do anything with those picks come the trade deadline. As of now, I don't really agree with the direction we've took this offseason if all we've left to do is sign Korver to the minimum and call it a day. But hell, you never know which all-star caliber players will start requesting trades midseason, and having extra picks as trade capital never hurts.

I still want Kevin Love on this team.....I want him playing the 4 so Giannis can go back to the 3 (a more natural position)....and Khris can go back to the 2.

Sending Bledsoe, Ersan, and Indy's protected first to the Cavs for Love would give you a pretty return.....

Hill
Khris
Giannis
Love
B. Lopez

Not that it says a whole lot but are either of these guys playing well in the SL? I have only been partially paying attention but I thought they were certainly not killing it out there. Which they probably should be...

Didn't Giannis look terrible in SL? And also Sanders hitting threes... I really wouldn't take too much from it.

Cleveland has drafted PGs with their last two 1st round picks. They'd need to reroute Bled somewhere else.

I've had my eye on Love as well but more to play Brook's role, not so much in addition. With Brook signed I think that ship has sailed. That lineup really lacks some dribble drive attack that we were getting from Bled and Brog last year. I think one thing that killed them vs Tor was our shooters being too stationary or just catch/shoot types. Mostly looking at Brook, Ers and Niko on that topic. While of course having those types still good for spacing I think it's probably best to only have one out there at a time like that. Closing out on them is way easier since you don't have to fear the drive. Get guys who can do both and they're way more dangerous. Bled obviously at fault in those games too since he can drive and didn't. IMO this is why Brog/Hill were the most effective players in the playoffs since they could do both.

Plus, that lineup on D is very slow as we saw killed us when trying to play Brook/Niko/Giannis together. 3 big lineups are pretty much gone for a reason at this point. At least one of Love/Brook would be stuck guarding on the wing vs a much quicker player.

I'd think with Giannis and Hill you'd have enough dribble drive on the floor to still keep defenses on their toes. But you're not entirely wrong on all other fronts.

I just really like Love...have for years.

I like Hill but under no circumstances would I want him to be our only other drive threat next to Giannis for a full season + PO's. That's the biggest loss from Brogdon imo, even more than his shooting. Dude can attack closeouts like a bull.

Two spots left, if we are bringing in Korver then sign Hommes and let him show him the ropes

Eh, not really a valid thing to hold against him imo and not sure why this had to divert into that even. As far as bigger wing players go he actually had a good FG% on drives last season.

it's more a comment on how he's just not a guy who can dribble drive his way to the rim on a closeout.

in fact, he's awful at it.

can he shoot, can he score? Yes

is he a great athlete who can dribble drive on a closeout? No

To a roster spot or a 2 way?

Roster spot I guess, not sure a 2 way gives him enough time in Milwaukee. That said I’d rather see Korver brought in as a coach and sign DaQuan and the best PG available but I’d be fine with Hommes. Seems like he can do everything on offense

Getting to, as well as finishing, at the rim is definitely a weakness for Middleton. He was just 96th of 198 players who started at least one game at forward last year, averaging just 3.3 attempts within 5 feet of the rim last year. He's much, much lower at a per-36 rate.

And he wasn't at all good when actually he got to that range, hitting just 54.7% from within 5 feet, bad enough for 154th out of 198. And the list of players below him ain't pretty.

And neither of those numbers is going to get any better going forward. It's only going to get worse as he ages and his annual salary rises. He better become at least a 40% 3-point shooter on high volume, which is something he's never done, so I'm not holding out hope.

I'd be fine with a 4y min like RoCo got. First year partially guaranteed, 2nd & 3rd unguaranteed, 4th year TO. Imo if we offer roster spots, we need to keep all the upside.

That's an overpay. Salary relief, Indy's 1st and 2nd is plenty to get that deal done. They don't want Bledsoe anyways, they want picks or young players. Use the trade exception (I think we can?) plus whatever other salary and DDV/DJ/Brown/Picks to get it done.

The only problem I see is Lopez and Love could get played off the floor due to their lack of mobility.

Not many big wing players are, that's the point. Unless they're the super elite ones. He had a better % than guys like PG, Butler, Tobias, and Gallo on drives. I'm not trying to advocate that he's great at this but I'm not going to hold it against him b/c you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone at that position who could mitigate a Bledsoe loss in that area.

We'd need cap space or a MLE to offer that, though.
