Nets Anticipate $40M Annual Surge In Revenue With Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving Additions

The Brooklyn Nets could see an annual surge of $40 million with the signing of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in the way of increased sponsorships, merchandising and ticket sales, sources tell Brian Lewis of the New York Post.

“It’s what we had hoped for,” BSE Global CEO Brett Yormark told The Post. “When we moved to Brooklyn, given what was going on in the borough, given the history and underserved nature of sports in Brooklyn, we thought we could be destinational and global. The first two years we tasted it, now we’ve realized it. And it’s exceeded all our expectations.”

Durant is not expected to play in 19-20.

“I think from a business standpoint, social media, merchandise sales, ticket sales, fan engagement, by any metric it’s a game-changer,” Yormark said.“Since June 30 we’ve sold merchandise on Netsstore.com in 14 different countries. So when you think about not just the domestic business opportunities but globally, it’s incredible.”

One reason Kyrie has more value than just his play on the floor ... he's a fan favorite and brings in $$$. Still puzzling why more teams wouldn't bid on him when he asked out of Cleveland, even for just 2 years of "fun".
