Carried us in the Nets series. Dont forget

And the $180 million dollar man promptly disappeared in the second round. I'm hoping he can provide more than just showing up against a decent regular season team in the playoffs.

He wasn't great in the playoffs, but I think "disappear" is a little harsh.

Man, I felt it as it was going on, but Tobias really killed it on the boards in the playoffs. He was also much more active on D than in the regular season, and I think the stocks show that.

On the negative side, and I also felt this, he was terrible that game 4 against the Raptors. The game I knew that if we didn't win, we'd lose the series. Smh.

If you think his series against the Raptors was satisfactory, then I don't know what to tell you. He shot sub 40% from FG and sub 30% from 3.

His atrocious game 4 performance likely cost us the series, and very likely a title along with it. Everyone knew we HAD to win Game 4 and we blew it.

Embiid cost us game 4. Nobody else. He's the one that went to the Trevor Noah concert the night before and got sick.

If the stats shared are correct (overall percentages aren't calculated correctly) then he had one really bad game from 3 and was pretty good otherwise. Not sure how that equates to disappearing, but everyone has an angle for their comments. He can do better, but definitely wasn't the only reason they lost.

He was also horrible in Game 7 vs Toronto.

Butler do what he had to do in the Nets series. He was the only one that showed up in game 1 and the rest of the games he didn’t get kicked out of were blowouts.

This explains why Biid was jacking up those 3s. With Butler and Ben, Biid was our 3rd best shooter and had two of them clogging the paint

Tobias can do better. By player dev and with a smaller defender at him like what’s gonna happen when he plays with Horford now.

If we faced the Raps with our new team, it’s gonna be Danny Green who’s gonna be on Tobias.

Butler, who is supposedly a great defender, couldn't guard anybody in either series. Ben Simmons had to do his work for him in both series.

That's not really applicable since Jimmy shot three times as many FTs than Harris and is not really relied upon as our three point shooter.

In the playoffs:

Jimmy Butler was 19/6/5 with an eFG of 49%
Tobias Harris was 15/9/4 with an eFG of 49%

This idea that Jimmy Butler carried the 76ers, while Tobias Harris shat the bed, is pure nonsense.

Why are you using eFG?

Butler 56.4 TS%, 0.8 VORP, 27/8/7/2/1 per 100
Harris 52.1 TS%, 0.5 VORP, 20/12/5/1/1 per 100

Butler was the far superior player.

Comeon Butler is gone now so just let it go we all know what's on your mind. All you need to do now is to pry your boy Tobi could develop into a real stud after he signed the biggest contract of this summer or we are in big trouble.

I don’t really care to defend Jimmy Butler at this point, but I think you’re being a little hard on the guy. He had a great post season run for us.

I thought Butler had a great run for us and really was the offensive centerpiece that you hope Jojo is next season, but I agree with his defensive point. He's still a smart, tough defender, but for a guy who has 4 second team all defense selections he's definitely past his prime on that side of the ball. There's no more taking a teams best wing and locking them down. Bigger guys like Kawhi, Lebron, Paul George, etc. overpower him and he can't keep up with smaller guards like Irving and Kemba.

His most redeeming qualities at this point are his ability to score at every level and offensive versatility, the ability to create for himself and others, and just being that guy you want with the ball in his hands in crunch time.

At the end of the day you're rendering Ben useless and mitigating Tobias if that's the case though. And in my opinion Tobias is a probably one of the best fits as a 3rd guy to make the Jojo/Ben thing work going forward, and finding a way for that to work is our best route for long-term success.
