If Cleveland thinks they can win with CP3 and Love, they might do it.

Win what?

A few extra games?

eithr way it's Cavs with 3 PGs or Houston with 3 PGs. I love it.

The Rockets are at a dead end with Chris Paul, but Oklahoma is willing to give his rivals a blood transfusion. Miami should not involve Justise Winslow or any of our young players in this transaction, the Heat will regret it.

It would be great to let OKC go and try to get a deal done with Houston, for it to crash and burn and watch OKC come back running to Pat begging for us to give them what we offered. At which point, in great Don fashion, he asks for his 2023 pick back instead.

In all seriousness though, let them explore. Truth be told, I almost feel if OKC and Houston come to terms on a better offer, it will likely make both teams worse in the long run since I see picks and CP3 being part of the deal in some capacity.

It would cost Houston Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker, AND Clint Capella to take on Westbrook. Cuz aint NOBODY touching that CP3 contract.

Be my guest.

We all could read your post. We just don't think anyone would seriously believe it.
Again, learn to read. I left plenty of qualifiers in there and you make it seem like this was a serious trade idea.

Why be so rude?

People tried to point out to you politely that Cleveland would NEVER think it was a good idea, in fact no-one in their reasonable mind would.

So Houston would have Harden/Paul/Westbrook backcourt and OKC would have Adams/Capela/Tucker front court. Basketball is going to look funny over there.

it's for the best. It's exciting but if negotiations stalemate at 2 of the 3 core young guys you might as well go all in for Beal who is a better fit, younger and wants to be here. I believe the Heat and Thunder are very far apart and a team like Hou will be more desperate along with Westbrook being open to joining them. My biggest takeaway is that this new level of self control on display from Riley shows a transitional shift in the FO and how they value assets. Where we once would have sold the farm for Westbrook it now looks like we will pass in favor of potential + flexibility. It's refreshing.

unless our young players become allstar does this even make any sense?. They need to get paid soon, Bam will get the max seeing how other bigs are being paid.

Unless our young players do actually become all stars and Brodie gets injured, does this even make sense? They will get paid soon what they deserve while we pay immensely for a player who is injured.

“Unless” and “what if’s” are how you make mistakes. This is a time where you call the bluff, hold your cards, and fold if they raise.

So Houston gets worse... love it! While OKC make a lateral move! Sounds like a great deal for both sides! And all this is happening out west? Perfect! We just have to grow internally now like the bucks did!

I was going to point this out too but realized I would literally be arguing with "somerandomdude" on the Internet. Sometimes it's better to let gifs do the work for you.

If I said before this season: Heat offer J-Rich to Philly for Jimmy Butler, do you laugh me out of the building?

How about in 2003, Shaq for Caron + Odom + BG's horrible contract?

How about in 95, Alonzo Mourning for Glen Rice + fillers?

If so, then stop. Just stop.

You may not like a trade, but that doesn't mean a trade isn't possible.

Bulls aren't interested, for what its worth. I also wonder if this gives us a insight into the minds of others in his position? Might not be that much of a market for Westbrook.

Im honeslty more worried about Butler getting hurt, he has MILES on him. Remember every offseason player get over paid, so no they wont get what they deserve, they will get what the market dictates. Thats something to factor.

Patience is running thin! I say we bring the offer down to the only sweetener we offer being unprotected 2023!

With every moment that passes by, the smoke that has clouded our judgement continues to clear more and more and the offer becomes less and less! If Presti wants to wait, we take more away!

I was looking for a landing spot for Goran Dragic and as i study depth charts I don't see a trade match with anybody. If he's not dealt to OKC in this Westbrook deal he's ours for the entire year. Same goes for OKC. No assets getting pulled for a 33-34 year old PG on an expiring deal. Probably more valuable to us right now tbh as a continued bridge to the Point Winslow transition and Nunn.

Just let it play out. I'm not sure why people are ready to jump ship from the trade when they are just negotiating. Pat isn't dumb enough to trade all the young assets away.

Trade him for Iggy. Saves us $2.1m.

OKC can make moves to get under the tax without us. Trading Westbrook is a death sentence in that market. Thats why they wont make any trade without real assets. Right now a motivated Westbrook gunning for another MVP trumps everything. Westbrook is like Butler, want to be the man of their own team. Westbrook is not demanding a trade. Westbrook is cheaper than Beal in a trade, thats something to consider.

As am I worried with Butler. No sense in selling the farm to have 2 concerns. I truly do not envy the nets whatsoever! Irving is always injured and KD is probably a shadow of himself. I worry that could be us with this deal. Would be worse if we traded away a future all star in the process too!

Point is, should they evolve into all star caliber players, then they would be getting paid what they deserve. As of right now, Winslow just signed his extension. We got time with him, and Herro just started his rookie scale. The concerns are Bam and DJJr. Trade DJJr and keep the others... done! Bam will likely deserve a good pay day, and hopefully by then we got Jimmy, Westbrook, and Beal on the roster.

Beal is a better fit than Westbrook.

Winslow/Beal/Butler/Olynyk/Adebayo will take us pretty far. ECF maybe.
