Trading for Westbrook would be a disaster. The guy would stunt the development of our young guys and his play-style doesn't lead to winning. We would be right back on the treadmill to nowheresville

In the Western Conference

2009 - 2019, Westbrook’s Thunder have been playoff seeded: 8th, 4th, 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 4th, and 6th

2016-2017 the team was the 6th seed in the West

Getting Westbrook would likely give us the playoffs this year. But how long would that last and how much longer would it take us to recover knowing we are likely giving up future assets or developmental pieces? Fast forward to 2022 and we'd wish we could switch places with the Thunder.

These can unfold.

Westbrook leads the Hornets deep in the playoffs for 4 years.

The Hornets acquire and develop good talent in the draft.

Batum, Zeller, Rozier, and Westbrook’s contracts expire.

In four years the Hornets are a playoff culture team with cap space.

Free agents want to be in on that environment.

Okay no more BS fake Westbrook deals for Monk or Bridges. He for real went to the Rockets for Chris Paul (a garbage contract) and 2 firsts that will be late firsts.

This makes sense.

Chris Paul in OKC, interesting.
And then Chris Paul finishing where he started...in a Hornets Jersey.

Muhahahaha.

Yeah I got this feeling he’s gonna end up here. I just hope if we do something we at least get Steve Adams... that dude is legit.

I wouldn’t but...

It could work out.

Paul/Rozier/Chealy
Bacon/Martin
Batum/Kubolka/McDaniels
Bridges/Washington/Williams
Zeller/Hernangomez

Big names here ain’t happening. Westbrook not coming here (thankfully), nor Adams, nor even Wiggins. I’m convinced there is little to no interest in our junk, and any offers are purely attempts to take advantage of any desperation on our part. The best trade deal we will get is the Rozier one, and THAT is a sad statement. MJ wants no luxury tax, Mitch smartly wants to limit any further exploitation of our future cap space, and everyone recognizes Batum as a hugely overpaid pot head with no enthusiasm for the game.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Chris Paul to the Wolves, Wiggins to the Hornets, and MKG/Marvin to OKC with two of their treasure trove of picks also going to Charlotte.

sure

OKC won't though. I'd be surprised to see them send out more than one pick with CP3, they'll just wait out the contract I think, or send him out for even worse contracts and more picks

Have you tallied the amount of picks coming their way? They won't miss one or two of them.

Charlotte is a solid landing spot.

The organization could use a marketing boost.
The team could use his talent and experience.

Paul gets a chance to fight for the playoffs in North Carolina.

Hornet could get a first round pick back in a salary dump.

In: Paul, draft pick
Out: Graham, Monk, Gilchrist, and Biyombo

Definitely Jordan putting his stamp on the new regime.

Sending out Monk and Graham? Do you hate your fellow Hornets fans?

No, I don’t.

Paul and a first round draft help the Hornets on many levels.

This also creates space for Kulboka and his 6’9” potential. Martin (and McDaniel) too.

He's the son that Michael Jordan wishes he had. I think he'll end up in Charlotte eventually, hopefully we'll get some assets for taking him on.

I could see this happening (but with just 1 pick coming our way). Cannot see Paul landing here, not after dealing for Rozier. Something about Wiggins intrigues me, which is probably the same feeling people get when seeing that used sports car that is priced lower than it should be. So tempting to try and get something that, with a little tweak, could return to form! My adult brain says...move on.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
