I'm new to the forums and I really can't understand why laker fans hate clipper fans so much. On reddit, social media ect. You even see some that hate the clippers over the celtics. It's one sided and the hate comes from the lakers.

They never experienced this before, the Clippers being competitive year after year. They had a little preview of this in 2005-06. Laker fans rooted for the Suns against us even though they just got their hearts broken when they checked away a 3-1 lead against the Suns.

It's a weird complex, because the city of LA was willing to bandwagon when the clippers were making the playoffs and the lakers weren't. Now all of a sudden is screw the clippers, Ice cube calling them the dippers and there's pictures of him wearing LA clipper gear.

Keep the same energy. Why switch up? If the lakers get eliminated, 100% fact the city and the LAL fanbase will jump on the bandwagon if the clippers make it farther.

I've been here longer than the Clippers and a fan since Day One. You just can't show up 35 years later and call yourself a "fan." This happened when CP and BG showed up but y'all wilt at the first sign of trouble.

The douchey ones are more comical than annoying tbh, and the veteran all-about-basketball ones are often good to have a conversation with. But you have to realize, they're run in a way where the brand is above everything, and as such they get a lot of fans that pick them as a fashion choice, not as a sports one. Guys who wouldn't last a whole game watching basketball but want that feeling of being superior and talking trash to other people for an accomplishment that's not theirs, the type of guys that bandwagon for other teams when the weather's not fair and are just coming back from their Warriors-fan time.

This is 100% what most Laker fans are nowadays. More obsessed with the brand of Lakers than the actual on-court production. It's sad. They're legit the only fan base I can't have an actual basketball conversation with.

All true. No transplant worth his salt would glom onto the Lakers with their built-in banners and smugness. I held onto my Sixers. But when the Clippers came, sure. I was here first. No shame in jumping on the bandwagon and it sure wasn't much of a bandwagon.

This isn't even like the Rams and Raiders, who seldom crossed paths. It's like the Kings and Ducks. Same division, fighting for seeding. Rivals. Enemies.

It's not about the city of LA. It's about the Clippers. You either is or you isn't. You isn't.
