Regarding the future picks that Houston gave up...

It's either going to be smart as hell or a complete disaster.

I get Houston's game here. This move was blessed off by Fertitta. In his estimation by 2024, Harden/Westbrook will obviously be on the decline but Houston will still be there.

Large market, winning culture, aggressive FO, owner whose willing to spend.

No coincidence that as the Lebron era is entering it's twilight these pussy teams are folding and the NBA is becoming better.

Thanks to Durant, who followed in this guys footsteps only to find out he felt nothing by winning a championship and broke his would be dynasty apart....Kawhi followed suit. Good for them.

2025 swap - near worthless since the swap is 1-20 protected

2026 1st round (1-4 protection) - A nice pick really far into the future, but this is the price you pay to dump 124m worth of Chris Paul salary.

It sounded like they thought they could get him for a bunch of expirings like Dragic and none of their young talent like Herro, Bam, or Winslow.

They didn’t sell the farm for him but they also didn’t get him despite Spo pushing hard to get him.

Man, so much hate for Westbrook... :noway:

I don't like his fit with the Rockets but I hope they can work it out, maybe the change of air will do him good. If the Lakers don't win the title this year I will be rooting for them, him and Harden deserve a ring.

I was hoping he would go to the Spurs, working under Pop would've been great for him.

Are they planning on going back to the SSOL offence that D'Antoni ran in Phoenix in terms of pushing pace? I guess it's possible if he grabs the rebounds and just goes. Otherwise, they could just give it to Harden, but man Westbrook isn't good off the ball, so....suspect fit imo.

Honestly we were really torn, and it varied by the hour.

On one hand, **** yea it would've been cool to have Westbrook

However nobody wanted to sell our young players to be locked down to aging Jimmy and Russ.

Now we have a nice young core, and the ability to clear cap room next year and at the worst afford a max in 2021 to add to our young guys and Jimmy
