Even if you feel that way, you could look at this trade as two franchises doing what it takes to make their franchise superstar happy.

There are reports that Westbrook and Harden were on the phone as soon as the PG trade went down discussing how they could make this happen. Maybe OKC initially wanted CP3 to go to a third team and gave in on that to get the deal done before the start of the season so Russ would be happy. Maybe Houston gave one more future pick than they wanted so it would get done too.

Me too. They lose a contract with one extra massive pay year and "gain" a declining 4 years older player. Meaning they will start the rebuild process that much earlier which was necessary but close to impossible with the younger, longer term contract of Westbrook. Plus the two picks and two pick swaps.

But Houston was a contender for last two years, they were REALLY close to win it all, and now they trade for player that universally known as player that will never win a championship. If I were Houston fan I would be sad as hell as my dreams of winning it all just died with this trade.

Damn Presti is the GOAT GM. Takes one shrewd mastermind to get an anchor contract and two protected 1sts for a recent MVP. Not to mention the HAUL he got for the other 2 MVPs he had.

He should definitely consider keeping CP3 around though. I could definitely see him hitting it off immediately with an Xs and Os god like Billy Donovan. Another truly INSPIRED coaching hire by Presti, I might add.

Is it just me or do the Curry / Warriors fanboys have some of the worst takes / analysis on the real GM? Most of them have no clues about NBA, all they know is fanatically defend whenever someone posts anything not pro Curry/ Warriors.
