Exactly what he did with Durant. Curry really is one of a kind.

The good news (?) for them is that at least one of them will see TOs go down. They can't BOTH have 40% usage.... can they?

harden also owns most TO's in a single playoff game record. It came against GS - I think in an elimination game for Houston?

Of course they can. Just play with two balls - problem solved!

If Harden and Westbrook simply take turns with the ball, it's not going to work any better than the CP3 version. If they want to finally win that ever-elusive title, Harden has to adjust. Someone's going to have to convince Harden to DO SOMETHING when he doesn't have the ball. He wasn't willing to do that for CP3 - will he for Westbrook? Is D'Antoni up to the task? I'm not sure I see it working out, but it will be interesting to see what happens.

I wonder if they had a chance to talk to Kerr or any of the players before they made this deal.

Maybe they decided to grab a name and salvage the KD situation, better than walking away empty-handed.

Kerr going to work in more pick and roll for Dlo since that was Dlo's strength last year?

I suspect they didn't have the opportunity to go for ideal fit, given their situation. Either get a starter-level player out of the transaction or walk away with nothing and no cap space to acquire starter-level talent, mush less a player who was an all-star last year.

I got the impression they had the contingencies planned out. And absolutely they had limited options. It's a questionable tactic but I agree with it.

So AD declined to say he will sign long term with Lakers after this next season.

Giannis is the target, not AD. :)

I agree on both points - they had their contingency plan developed and I agree with it despite DLo being such an apparently polarizing player. They knew KD leaving was a distinct possibility (probability?) and that Brooklyn was a likely destination. In that case, DLo was the only option for a sign-and-trade. It's been reported that they had already told Iggy that if KD doesn't return, he may be traded for the cap room, thus it would be logical that Kerr (for sure) and Curry (possibly) would/could have been involved. I would guess they would want Kerr's input either way and Curry more as a courtesy as the "face of the franchise" and to make sure he was comfortable meshing with DLo.

Yes. They probably had also already broken down what was going to happen next with the hard cap and a list of who they were going to go after. That said, I bet they were thrilled to get some of the players they were able to get in FA, but likewise had others they tried for but couldn't get.

Let's all remember we want the team to have the 11th best record in the NBA and no better to keep their 1st round pick. Make the playoffs, make some noise, draft a stud :)

Exactly. Would also help if at least 1 of the youngsters on longer than 1 yr contracts (Evans, Smiley, Paschall, Poole, Spellman) shows some serious upside... and maybe another 1 or 2 of them to look like they have potential to be long term keepers.

If we want to compete for a title in 20-21 we're going to need more than the TPE and Tax Payers MLE for depth.

How much would our TP MLE be?
