Yeah that tough NBA defense he went up against last season had him scoring 22ppg on 52% FG

I'm almost positive that 4 starting spots will be occupied by Mitch, Randle, RJ and DSJ. The question is whether Bullock, Knox or Dotson will take the last spot. IMO, I don't think there's a chance of Frank or Trier starting. The Knicks may like Knox off the bench. He can be more aggressive and shoot as much as he wants with the second unit. I like what I'm seeing from him in Summer League but need to see more.

I like the second unit as:

C: Portis - Gibson
PF: Knox
SF: Trier - Iggy
SG: Frank
PG: Payton

In reality, we have too many 2s/3s. The positions are interchangeable nowadays. If Frank wont play PG over Payton, we're looking at:

RJ, Bullock, Knox, Dotson, Trier, Frank, Iggy and Ellington fighting for minutes. All of them expect time and there's not enough to split up between 8 guys. Now that our best player is our PF, fitting all of these guys into the 2/3 slot wont be easy. I hope that a deal is coming.

Randle as the leader of this team will lead to major improvements. He might be the best big at creating out of the triple threat position in the league. His passing ability is a very underrated element of his game. I think he will become a fan favorite quickly.

Which would you rather have: a 23 yr old with rough averages of 23 ppg 7 rpg 1 apg over 2 bpg with a 5 year 158 million contract coming off acl or a 24 year old with rough averages of 22 ppg 9 rpg 3 apg less than 1 bpg with a 3 year 63 million contract injury free

Anyone know what the unlikely incentives portion (1.8) of his contract are?

The duncd on guys talked about it briefly. Basically, it can’t be something the person or the team achieved last year. So it could be something as simple as the team gets 25 wins or for Randle avg 4 APG.

Pretty cool how you can manipulate the cap space with these incentives. Basically, you have to have the room for what the final salary would be if they hit the incentives. But once they sign, the cap hit goes back to the base salary minus the incentives. MIA did this a few years ago.

Smart move. Credit where credit is due.

I've been on the train for a while that these two would pair perfectly with each other. Oh well

at the end of the day, it don't matter how much you score if you can't play defense.

but if randle does, knicks got a steal.
