Who will be the STEAL of the 2019 NBA draft?

Post#1 » by King Ken » Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:00 pm

I have 5 of them.

1. Cam Reddish - I strongly believe he can be the best player in this class and could be the best player in the NBA one day. My comparison for him is Jamal Crawford - scoring and creativity in space, Jodie Meeks movement ability, T-Mac body, size and fluidity, and PG13 defensive instinct and tools. Teams goofed up passing on him going to the team with great space.

2. Rui - Teams goofed up again. Explosiveness in tight space - check, big ass hands - check, forward skills with shooting touch - check. His defense needs work but the tools are there. He does disappear at times but he is so freakish, finding players to guard him is nearly impossible and you will just double him but guess what, he can move the rock too. Internet scouts overly scouted him and missed on his obvious gifts. Potential superstar.

3. Jaxson Hayes - Teams goofed up again. Explosiveness, speed, Odell hands, agility, 7ft, shooting touch and feel for the game. Man, passing on him was foolish. Easy mistake for those who did it. He is not there due to needing time in the gym but like Mo Bamba, you will regret passing on him in his prime. Griffin did his thing.

4. Herro - I underrated him for awhile till I saw the tape. His ass can shoot, is athletic, can handle with both hands, can really shoot it and got a crazy ass feel for the game. Miami got them one and he will wreck havoc in the east for along time once he adjust to the pace of the game and the quality of PGs in the NBA. He got easy gas, stats lied on this man, he got some sauce.

5. Cody White - He really gonna **** the league up something serious when his shot is right. He really like Arenas but got more PG skills and a better feel for being patience. 7-10 in this draft can change the league for the next 10-15 years.

looking to players that really fell
to me it's between Nas,Claxton and Kevin Porter Jr. for the award
I mean Bol I guess would have to be the winner if he makes it to all star status.
great value picks at where they went are another story
I think Detroit got great value with Sekou at 15 and Brazdeikis should have gone late first early 2nd.

This draft was deep so the guys that really fell that I was high on, I felt could fall for that reason. It was a deep class.

I didn't report on none of the Michigan guys so I missed out on Iggy

If there was someone or some who fell who shocked me, it was Kabs and Nas. I had them as a top 11 guys.

Bol fell for stuff off the court and injuries but he was a top 4 rank for me but hearing he has Brandon Roy knees but worse than Roy had them is discouraging

Yeah forgot about Kabengele, definitely could develop into a solid starter

I can't go with Coby White - especially the comp to Arenas. Arenas was so explosive going to the basket combined with underrated strength. That's why he was able to draw fouls and finish through contact. He also had deep 3 point range - while Coby is awfully inconsistent with his shot. I can't see him being anywhere near the scorer that Arenas was.

I think Bol's the biggest steal, but Fernando and Claxton were terrific bargains. Iggy obviously and Weatherspoon has a chance.

Yup, can’t really consider lottery picks “steals” especially if there’s 5 of them. That just mean good picks picked about where we thought they would go.

Now Bol, Edwards, Claxton.... Fall? Those would be steals, guys taken in late first, second or undrafted.
Hey you! Can we come together?

That Canadian kid - I can't remember his name at the moment - the Pelicans selected is a pretty good player. In the Pelicans/Bulls match I felt he was a much better player than Coby White. Hayes is awesome but he is not a steal considering he was a lottery pick. Pelicans overall had a really good draft. Edwards on the Celtics is definitely a steal. Kid can shoot.

Herro or Sekou Doumbouya

Herro is built for the new age NBA, his game is similar to Devin Booker.

Sekou is a hyper athletic, young SF in the body of a PF and could still be growing. He could be a poor man's Giannis or Embiid.

Reddish is more likely to be the biggest bust. Statistically one of the worst lottery picks of the last decade. He’ll need to completely transform his mindset if he’s going to succeed in the league. His interview after he was picked didn’t give me much hope; he seemed pretty content with how he performed in college.

Ty Jerome is likely to be in the league 10+ yrs. He does everything right. No flash and dash... just a boring solid fundamental game. And he is a semi-sniper... vital for longetivity for the athletically challenged.

Herro, Bitadze and Brazdeikis. I think Sekou is a bust.

Sekou is the youngest player from this draft and im not sol detroit knows how to develop euros or anyone for that matter, but there litteraly is no reason to think he will bust other than somebody not knowing enough about him.
