That's not the point tho he would just rot at the end of the bench... For sure we are going to develop him in the g-league so he gets gametime
He's on the 15 man roster...even if he spends time in the G league.

Only 4 turnovers is impressive to me. I think Jackson had 4 in a half last summer league lol

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I think he fits the mold that a pro path might be better because he's at least physically ready to play against grown men. So being able to spend more time developing his game with pro coaches might be more beneficial than trying to be a student athlete in a program that's main focus is winning college games with individual player development secondary.
The whole thing is interesting because we're not too far away from the 1 and done being over and more guys taking this path leading up to that change.

35 K a yr (min), per diem and insurance is going to entice a lot of young men. Go play basketball for 3-4 yrs and bank a 100K while rolling the dice for millions? What a nice option. Screw the starchy old NCAA. They've been profiting from flesh peddling long enough. Crazy to think in the 60s and early 70s, NBA wannabes had to wait 4 yrs from their high school graduation to play in the NBA. Took a supreme court ruling (Spencer Haywood) for them to be able surpass that, but the player had to prove 'financial' hardship. WTF?
ABA said F that and drafted Moses Malone in '74. (Chairman of the Boards is one of my fav nicknames) Still took plenty of time for the NBA to change.

I do not know of one of those players who turned out to be good.

Saw Lecque a lot in HS being from NC. He is a good two to three years from contributing in my opinion. Lot’s of work to do on his handle, jumpshot and bball iq. Lot’s of physical tools, but EXTREMELY raw. Westbrook averaged 3 ppg his freshman year at UCLA and I think Lecque would have had similar stats at NC State to be honest. Good piece to have on your shelf though.
He lived in NC and even if his plan was to go to college first, I don’t think UNC or Duke would have recruited him based off his current skill.

Yeah, wasn't he set to go to NC St? I know he was ranked around 40 in his class. But yeah, he looks just like a raw athlete, and he would have likely been lucky to crack the first round next year so it's good he got a deal. Hopefully he puts in a lot of work, especially with his shot...and maybe he can thrive in 2-3 years.

Yup, he was set to go to NCSU. My Heels scouted him very briefly and decided not to pursue based off his performance. It didn’t help his case that guys like him always seem to underachieve at UNC such as JP Tokoto, Dexter Strickland and most recently Seventh Woods.

Kind of feels like a low usage rate and much younger Donovan Mitchell from his first summer league.

Re: Jalen Lecque
That's great. Now if he could just learn to pass, dribble, shoot, and play consistent D, he could be an adequate pg.

Jalen Leque seems to be developing some pretty good moves!!! I really hope that we actually keep him and work him into the rotation soon.
