Kyrie is one of my fave players, but man, that guy held the team hostage with his mood swings. Maybe playing with KD and D.Jordan would help or maybe he’s learned something from last season. I hope everything works out fine for him. I think he’s one of the best pg’s in the league skill wise, but he truly failed as a leader.

Nobody asked Kyrie to be a leader in Boston, also nobody WANTED him to be a leader, he just elected himself and messed up... So it doesn’t matter if you ask him or not, you should know that... I hope all goes fine for him and KD because is their last chance to show they aren’t overly talented headcases.

Can't believe I'm posting in this thread, and that Kyrie still merits his own thread vs. being rolled into the "Around the NBA" thread.
That said, you could have made the same statement called out above about Boston prior to last year.
Either Kyrie learned something from his experience in Boston and will be humble, coachable and authentic in engaging with teammates or he will act the way he did last year -- arrogant, uncoachable and phony.
At this point I don't care either way and am glad to welcome Kemba in his place. The conclusion that Boston collectively came to is that for all his talent, Kyrie isn't worth the headache. Cleveland seemed to land there as well. Next up: Brooklyn.

thats not how it works. he can be whatever he wants. if he wants to lead great. if not great. they embrace players and their needs and their flaws and their difficulties. the nets are the most successful franchise in the NBA when it comes to culture. its not just about winning, at least for marks and the nets. they made a radical change after the billy king era. the nets staff is 3 times the size of the next largest franchise, simply to accomodate players, their families, and their charities.
our franchise isnt in kyries hands or any players hands.
