Which would you like to discuss? Muscala's better shooting percentages, BPM, RPM, rebounding rate, assist rate, block rate or something else that Muscala is measurably better than Grant at? If you want to talk about jumping and athleticism I will give that to Grant. However, there is no way to objectively claim that Grant is better on the court than Muscala. Grant had what will likely be his career shooting year and Presti was smart enough to cash in on it. Muscala has multiple seasons shooting over 40% from 3.

Chris Paul isn't capable of dragging this team to the playoffs. You guys need to chill.

Also, Bazely is different, and I'm here for it.

check metrics which account for playing time. even RPM wins has grant ahead. per possession metrics don't always scale and muscala played only 1300 minutes last year-- a career high, by the way. i also think it's cute you are including muscala's 2014-15 as one of multiple seasons shooting over 40% from 3... on 22 attempts. CARMELO would be another which has 2018-19 grant well ahead.

i'm a big fan of mike muscala, too. i suspect in similar roles grant would come out ahead on the per possession metrics as well. this upcoming season may be a nice test case so bookmark this discussion.

To read a lot of this stuff online you'd think Paul was Semaj Christon or something. Looking at RPM on ESPN and the various advanced stat categories on the basketball reference player season finder (PER, WE/48, BPM), he was still a top 10-15 guard in the NBA. I know the deal isn't great but gosh, some of these teams aren't going to lure anything resembling a star anyway. I think there's probably more interest league wide than we're being led to believe by the Heat's **** P.R. offensive.

RealGM underrates starts and overrates role players. You should see some of the responses from Minnesota fans about trading RoCo. He's treated like Kobe Bryant.

Rick Bonnell: I’ve been told the Hornets don’t want Paul’s contract. It’s dramatically longer and larger than Batum’s. And with Rozier here, what purpose would that trade serve?

Some fans on the dallas board seemed interested in Paul and Adams.

No. They want to give Fultz plenty of time to prove he is a bust before they consider moving assets for a proven PG. They could give Fultz the whole season, but they will at least wait until after Dec 15th to consider making a move for a PG.

They can only take on one of the other. They don't have enough matching salaries.

Im curious how this works. Paul can't combined with other players in a trade for 60 days. If you can break the same trade in to two separate trades with the same team, is that permissible? For example, instead of Trading CP3 and player X for other teams' players 1, 2 and 3, we trade Paul for players 1 & 2 and then we make a second trade with OKC player X for player 3 from the other team.

yes, this is often done. if the trade can be completed in separate transactions (where cp3 is traded on his own) then the aggregation rule does not apply.

There is no restriction on trading CP3. The 60 days is only for players acquired with an exception or if the salary was aggregated in the trade. There is a 60 day hold on Gallinari because his salary was aggregated with SGA.

For two months after receiving the player in trade, if the trade aggregates the player's salary with the salaries of other players. However, the team is free to trade the player immediately, either by himself or without aggregating his salary with other salaries. This restriction applies only to players who were acquired using an exception (and not cap room).
