They would not listen, they did not know how. Perhaps they'll listen now.

Poirier has the coolest anagrams:
• Invoice Printer
• Inception River
• Prior Incentive
• Porcine Vitrine
• Tinier Province

I'm bored.

So Poirier went from $898,310 in year one, to what?

FWIW, Pear Tree rated high last two years among his Euro counterparts...

In April when the Poirier to Boston rumors first surfaced, Poirier said he would only go to the NBA if he would be a rotation player; he would not go to sit on the bench. (He is a big star in Europe; one of the two best centers in the EuroLeague, if not the best.)

My sense is the Cs actively scouted and recruited him.

FWIW. I expect a rotation slot is Poirier's to lose. Maybe more.

If Poirier can be the Tiago Splitter to Kanter's Tim Duncan, I'll be very happy. Too bad though that we already sent Boris Diaw packing.

Maybe they gave him more than the minimum to put him on the Wanamaker/Theis Euro-import good soldier track. Kanter could well be here just one season with Poirier in line to become Rob's primary backup after that.

That makes sense. I suspect what happens is that Kanter, Timelord, Theis, Poirier, Semi and GWilliams all get thrown into the training camp pit, and a top three or four emerge. I think that all of them have a chance--though clearly Semi and Gwill cannot both make the rotation cut as only one mini-big can survive, at most-- and probably Kanter is the only one who is almost certain to make the rotation, if not start.

My guess is that there will be between 65-75 minutes between all the bigs, depending upon how much Tatum/Hayward are playing/defending the 4.

I see Semi more as a backup 3 and Williams a backup 4. My hope is that Enes and Rob can split the minutes at the 5, with Williams and Theis perhaps competing for the backup/big 4 spot. The only rook I am pretty much certain will make the rotation is Edwards as a backup guard at the 2 in tandem with Smart at the point.

I’ve been grieving and not really had the energy to look up on Ball stuff too much recently.

What’s he like defensively?

Can he protect the rim? Or more likely to guard outside?

Or is he just Kanter 2.0 on that end?

The reports say defense is his strength. He is not going to score much or create offense. He can be a rim runner. He plays hard and with passion.

Ha ha--makes sense to me. I think he averaged something like 2-2/36 in SL where Rob a year later was putting up closer to 20-16 numbers. (All off the top of my head.)
