Come on Ben!

The difference was form and release. Randle didn’t have a broken shot...the ball came off his hand nicely. Ben will have a bigger transition as his form needs to change considerably. Not insurmountable, but I doubt his shot looks the same next year...or if it looks the same we won’t see much improvement.

I'm Aussie too and I'd rather Ben stayed in the States and worked on his jump shot, in 2020 Olympics I'll be disappointed if He doesn't play though.

Hopefully a return to 5 years ago when it wasn't broken:

Wtf. Every time someone brings up his highschool shooting form I'm flabbergasted. Where did the elbow flare and lower body twist come from? In that video he has a tucked elbow and he is going up square and landing relatively square. Certainly within the realm of acceptable hip turn on a jump shot. I know those are cherry picked but at no point did I go, "that guy is shooting with the wrong hand."

What would a Sixers fan be without shooting form nostalgia?

Man, I'll put up this board's collective knowledge on metatarsals, navicular bones, and Jumpshot form against any NBA training staff.

A lot of people bringing up that shot more than I'm comfortable with. I won't get Fultz'd again.

Listening to NBA radio. The host, Brendon Haywood, said he has spoken to one of Ben Simmons shooting coaches who basically said in order for Ben to be a good shooter he has to want it. And right now Ben does not want it. Meaning he is not willing to put in all the hard work necessary to get to that point. Now who knows when this conversation took place but it's out there. The callers have been killing Ben. But one thing everyone agrees on is if he can improve his FT shooting and his outside shot the guy would be an incredible force in the NBA,

Crazy timing. I just watched the old Skip Bayless - Cuban argument where Cuban eviscerates Skip and sports media at large for using these empty platitudes like "he's got to want it" that are completely devoid of facts or reason. If a guy is out here grinding on his off time, with a shooting coach, what more does he have to do to show he "wants it?"

Ben Simmons: 0 3 pointers made, .583 career free throw percentage

Brendan Haywood: 0 3 pointers made, .587 career free throw percentage

Seems like Brendan didn’t want it either.

Perhaps he is just out there going through the motions for appearances sake. Not really grinding it. Anyone that has been a part of a sports team knows of a few instances guys show up and just do as little as possible. Perhaps Ben WAS that guy.

That makes me sad because Brendan would know what a slacker/ someone that does not want it looks like.

And Brendan did not say it. He was just repeating what a coach said to him.

So I wonder who would know more about Ben's shooting progress right now...Brandon's source? Or Tobias and Elton? Hmmm. Ben is no fool, he must have at least a similar midrange jumper to what he had In his rookie season or sh/t could really hit the fan. I'd be stunned If he came back with no progress...absolutely stunned. We'll see when training camp starts and of course the pre-season games are gonna be highly anticipated to see how he looks just like Fultz last season.

I can't wait for the pre-season games to hear Ben's mother yelling at the shooting coach that he did not fix her son. Just like old times.

Isn’t his shooting coach also her son? Makes things easy.
