Heat Get: Beal, and Paul
OKC Gets: Dragic, JJ, and Dion
Wizards Get: Winslow, KO, and 4 future 1st round picks from Miami

Deal reduces our cap by about 7 million for the upcoming season, and we are able to use our Elington trade exception for that, free us enough money to bring back Wade and give UD his final ride.

PG: Paul, Wade, Nunn
SG: Beal, Herro
SF: Buckets DJJ, Robinson
PF: Myles L, KZ, UD
C: Bam, Maten

Would be nice to Add somebody like Dwight Howard for the vet minimum to backup Bam off the bench

Run it back Dwade you aren't supposed to retire in the regular season, need that 4th ring

In that scenario I'd be really disappointed if we lost Winslow, Olynyk and 4 FRP's in an acquisition of Beal. Considering that was basically the cost for the Clippers to get PG which also allowed them to sign Kawhi. PG is also a better player than Beal.

I would prefer to to keep 2 picks even if it costed us Herro. We should save the other 2 FRP's to use to get off Paul's contract in 2021 if he decides he's going to opt in or to even potentially use them in a sign and trade scenario.

Agreed. Winslow, KO and 4 firsts seems a bit much! PG13 also had some years left on his deal, so leverage was low on his and clippers end, while the clear desire to move now by PG was high.

For us, if that’s what Washington wants, then we wait until next summer when their leverage begins to escape them in our favor. The sting of Kawhi leaving will still he fresh in the eyes of the league and few will be willing to make a pitch for Beal if he says he wants Miami and we have the assets and cap to make it happen in free agency. I say we offer KO, Winslow and 2 picks now, and wait around until the finally feel that is the right price. Beals value will continue to decrease with each passing day.

So basically it’s analogous to the Laker PG-13 thing except we have no indication he even wants to come here? Not even one report for his camp saying Miami would be nice?
The reports are us going after him and the Wizards saying no. It would be perfect if it worked, but that’s not realistic. Also we are not factoring Bam and his extension. Unless Wade becomes Beals best friend off the court we are not in a position to influence or dictate terms, that’s why the Wizards heard Pat and his offer and declined. So either we get better assets to trade or somehow try to influence a forced trade.

If Ibaka and Gasol get bought out at the trade deadling, which would you rather pick up?

Might depend on which of the two is playing better this season.

One intangible is Ibaka would get to bring his online cooking show to Mia and we all might get to watch him serve rhino balls to the Heat players.

I think a lineup of Paul,Herro,Butler,Winslow,Bam would put us in the Eastern finals.

Nunn is likely better than than Herro at the moment. Maybe he gets more minutes than Herro this season.

You'd value two first round picks, possibly in the late 20s, over Herro? I'm keeping Herro over any future picks.

If we can retain him and those two FRP's then great. But I find it hard to see us getting Beal before this season starts without losing someone we really don't want to add in Herro or Bam and I'm higher on Bam so my preference would be Herro.

This would be my min/mid/max offers depending on the time

Before this season.
Min - Winslow, Olynyk and 2FRP's
Mid - Winslow, DJJr, Olynyk and 2FRP's
Max - Winslow, Herro, Olynyk and 2FRP's

2019 trade deadline and strong feeling Beal wants to be in Miami.
Min - Winslow, Olynyk and 1FRP
Mid - Winslow, DJJr, Olynyk and 1FRP
Max - Winslow, Olynyk and 2FRP's

2020 trade deadline and Beal publicly wanting to be in Miami.
Min - Waiters, Olynyk and a FRP
Mid - DJJr(new contract), Olynyk and a FRP
Max - Winslow, Olynyk and a FRP

Unless we trade a few guys for Chris Paul, Nunn won't be seeing much floor time at all. And politics would never allow him to get more minutes than a lottery pick.

Please stop posting this garbage. If a trade was going down it wouldnt take "days" for Woj or Shams to find out.

This makes sense, but it means that they were dummies for dealing with Houston instead of Miami. I can only assume that Houston was Westbrook's preferred destination and they did right by him. Because if it wasn't and they just assumed they'd flip CP to us and extract more concessions lol...they screwed up bad.

I understand that but don't you find it odd that the Westbrook trade hasn't been made official yet?

I don't see the two as being related. Is it possible that OKC is trying rout Paul elsewhere via 3 team trade? Sure. Is it possible that a deal is done and the guys whose job it is to know this stuff literally wont find out for several more days while some shmuck on the internet already has the scoop? You tell me what you think.

No Kendrick Nunn? Not a good list then.

Edit: I take that back, Nunn isn't a rookie. Glad Herro made the list

Exactly, getting both our picks back is a pipe dream. We MIGHT get one if Presti loses his patience.

And getting Paul and then Beal is likely impossible as im sure Washington will want to ship Wall out with any trade made for Beal. They are a package deal if the Wiz ever trade them.

Basically I don’t see any way we become contenders before 2021. Which is why trading for a 30yr old Jimmy was short sighted. He may be washed up by 2021 and another burden contract ala Whiteside/Tyler.

The correct play was to not trade for him, let all these contracts expire and go whale hunting every offseason/ use expirings and picks to get a TRUE disgruntled star. But Riley doesn’t have the patience for that. So here we are, with half star Jimmy and literally no one else. Treadmill city with a lead hamster and no running mate.

If we do nothing else; we are 5th seed with chance of second round.
If we trade for Paul; we are 4th seed with chance of ECF.
If teams best player(s) get injured and some lucky flukey shots fall, ala Raptors, we can sneak an underserved/tainted/weak title in just as they did.
