Anthony Davis refuses to commit to the Lakers beyond this season

Davis leaving the Lakers has been my bold prediction for a few weeks. Glad to see that maybe there’s something to it. Miami, Golden State, Boston or the Clippers I bet.

If the franchise feels like AD is a sure thing and will be back regardless, the ass-kissing he would receive will be put on the back-burner while everyone's french-kissing Lebron's log-cutter.

It's pretty evident he seen how Kawhi was treated for a year in Toronto, and he wants the type of adoration and ass-kissing Kawhi got. I'm pretty sure this is nothing but a power-play by Lebron and Rich Paul, brain-washing AD into being their puppet.

I've lived in the LA area. I'd rather stay in South Florida. For the quality of life. Everything is better here.

I'm not sure of all the rules around it but I know players can sometimes sign an extension before their contract expires. Lillard just re-signed with Portland this year for 4 more years and he still has 2 years to go on his old contract.

Before he was traded, Rich Paul said that they were going to experience free agency and he was probably going to sign short contracts, and sign a 10ywar vet max in 2022.

If they don’t make the playoffs or lebron breaks his leg he will probably leave. Otherwise, stay on 1+1 deal.

I dunno if this is true. He left a Pelicans team that had Jrue and would have made the playoffs (they did the year before) he has also made it clear in interviews he is worried about his legacy and wants to compete for titles.

I think the threat is more real then Laker fans realize if the Lakers don't make a deep run and he doesn't feel Lebron can be his robin then there is a better then decent chance he leaves and teams up with another star. It will be interesting to watch anyways.

Yes, because you and most of the people on this board (including me) are regular people. Your dollar goes alot further there. However, for someone with 100M+ in contracts, endorsements, LA is a better place to be (IMO), from houses that sit on hills that over look the city or ocean, to girls (alot of big cities can provide this), and the opportunities to expand your brand (tv, movies, tech etc)
