Our 2 picks back, no outgoing future picks, and they have to take Iggie to their board.

Take it or choke on Paul's contract OKC.

Sorry to complicate things but we need to find another team for Iggie. I like the OKC board. Can't we send him to the Pelicans? They have cap space.

Exactly, getting both our picks back is a pipe dream. We MIGHT get one if Presti loses his patience.

And getting Paul and then Beal is likely impossible as im sure Washington will want to ship Wall out with any trade made for Beal. They are a package deal if the Wiz ever trade them.

Basically I don’t see any way we become contenders before 2021. Which is why trading for a 30yr old Jimmy was short sided. He may be washed up by 2021 and another burden contract ala Whiteside/Tyler.

The correct play was to not trade for him, let all these contracts expire and go whale hunting every offseason/ use expirings and picks to get a TRUE disgruntled star. But Riley doesn’t have the patience for that. So here we are, with half star Jimmy and literally no one else. Treadmill city with a lead hamster and no running mate.

If we do nothing else; we are 5th seed with chance of second round.
If we trade for Paul; we are 4th seed with chance of ECF.
If teams best player(s) get injured and some lucky flukey shots fall, ala Raptors, we can sneak an underserved/tainted title in just as they did.

People are going to get a surprise when CP3 starts the season in OKC ... and it turns out that he can still ball. He's going to dominate the ball and he's going to look a lot better than he did last season. I suspect that his trade value will improve by the deadline.

And no, we should not give up anything of value for him because that would likely shorten our window with Butler to 1 or 2 years instead of 3 or 4 years.

I understand that but don't you find it out that the Westbrook trade hasn't been made official yet?

I don't see the two as being related. Is it possible that OKC is trying rout Paul elsewhere via 3 team trade? Sure. Is it possible that a deal is done and the guys whose job it is to know this stuff literally wont find out for several more days while some shmuck on the internet already has the scoop? You tell me what you think.

He doesn't say that those guys don't know, just that they aren't reporting it yet. If this is a multi-team deal and the CP3 part is done but the rest isn't then Shams, Woj or anyone won't report on it now, they will wait till it's finalized then report it. Those guys only report what teams tell them to report when it comes to trades/signings. They aren't finding out through back channels and leaking it to the public.

The Westbrook to Houston trade was likely finalized and they announced it but when Miami failed to get it done OKC left the Westbrook deal open to add into it due to our cap situation.

I wouldn't be surprised. I have said all along I think Chris Paul is a good player, still a good player. Even so, I don't see Butler + Chris Paul taking us anywhere but into salary cap hell for three seasons.

Also, OKC also got pick swaps, so they're not net nothing as Albert claims.

Man, I can't stand him. Easily my least favorite Heat player of all time. Where does he get that entitlement from? Dude has been a bust/career bum aside from a single 41 game half season stretch.

I have no interest in watching him hog the ball and take away from Jimmy & Winslow. With the roster as presently constructed, he needs to be on that second unit where he can share ball handling duties with Dragic.

Lowkey hoping for Dion to be the one who ticks Jimmy off in practice.

I can see your point, but least favorite? Of all time?

I personally like Dion. I hope his continuous production matches his mentality at some point in his career. He did give the Heat a taste of whats possible.

being a fake insider is becoming artful craft. the way sourcesplug vaguely reports things that have a high likelihood of happening then uses it to validate as if he reported something concrete i.e. see how he recently takes credit for breaking the Reggie Bullock signing. Some disagree, but Eye in the Sky also piggybacks off of rumors and then when something is reported he dishes the “details” of what’s been going on. why not report things on his own timeline? Without someone else’s initial reports to fill in the gaps for? any of us can assume certain things once a report comes out on it. Anyways some of these guys are getting really good at lying.

Hey... AD is not committing to LA... could you imagine if he walks? LA mortgaged their whole future for him. That would hurt if he were to walk!

Why is this important? Because you do not mortgage your whole future on a contract that is about to expire! Beal for Winslow, KO and 4 future picks is ridiculous!

Lol! So 2021 is the off season that keeps on giving? Would be pretty crazy if in 2 years the league again does a power shift like it did this offseason?

You need to factor in ticket sales. With no Star on this team, and the only thing saving us was Wade and his retirement tour, something had to be done. That alone explains the Butler trade but now we are on the clock.

Not being on the clock is sitting in purgatory and bitching about the season and looking at Bishop talking about Naz Reid is the next Alonzo Morning with elite skills.

Windhorst is trying hard to make cp3 to Miami a thing, dude its not happening unless Presti is ready to give up picks. Get ready CP3 is gonna be asked to stay home when the season begins. Kind of like a Melo situation, getting paid not to show up.

Presti thought he was going to trade Westbrook and then fleece Miami to get the Paul off the team hoping they'd be desperate. Riley didn't bite.
