My heart really hurts for the victims and their families that were impacted yesterday. It's just so surreal that something like this happened at home. I was in the library working on an assignment with my headphones on when this big group of people came running around the corner, nobody had on bookbags or anything they were just running. I looked up and and saw their faces and could tell something was wrong, and then I heard people saying shooter. I packed all my **** up and sprinted for the emergency exit to get to my bike, I probably got out of there and off campus in 45 seconds or less. I'm graduating this semester and yesterday was my last day ever, I just can't believe that happened.

Still trying to come to terms with the death of PERNELL SWEET PEA WHITAKER who was by far my favorite fighter of all time. The other 4 were, Ali, Prince Naseed Hamed, Sugar Ray Leanard, Sugar Ray Robinson. Right now I root for Crawford and Wilder.

Pernell was super fun to root for. What made him fun was, he was a guy who made others miss with his reflexes. How that became fun to me was, it felt like I was in a video game pretending to dodge the punches that came my way (by pretending to be whitaker). ALthough it was a video game, I felt I beat every level without losing a life, thats how good/great he was.

He is the only fighter who I own a video collection of ALL OF HIS FIGHTS. He is the only fighter who I entered and left the ring with. Rip Pernell, you were the best.

One more thing about Whittaker. Well it's not actually about Whitaker, but when I was younger I used to watch MAX KELLERMANS boxing show that he mentions from time to time called MAX ON BOXING. It was a PUBLIC ACCESS show that used to come on around 5 oclock or so right after school.

I used to rush home to watch it. Mainly because Max talked about Pernell every episode. I called up the show once (right after it went off because I was to shy to talk on air and I spoke to max). We talked about Whitaker and a few other boxers and Max asked me to call in sometimes but I never did again.

Those were the good ole days and having someone like Max who was just as much of a Pernell fan as I was everyday talk about him made it feel like the way this hornets forum feels.

Max's brothers also had shows on public access. One of his brothers (who got killed) my friend met. That brother was so cool and funny haha. Rip to Sam.
