Perhaps he is just out there going through the motions for appearances sake. Not really grinding it. Anyone that has been a part of a sports team knows of a few instances guys show up and just do as little as possible. Perhaps Ben WAS that guy.

Sure, that's absolutely possible. I will say, those guys seem to be few and far between in the upper echelon of today's NBA which Ben certainly is a part of. Coleman and Eddie Curry's make it to the NBA but there doesn't seem to be too many lazy bums that get to that top ~50 range of players.

I hope to god simmons comes back atleast WILLING to shoot, and with his elbow tucked. I dont have any expectation of a 33% three point shooter or him shooting 4 or 5 a game..

but 1 or 2 three pointers a game at a 25% mark, coupled with more FTA's per game at around 66% would make me pretty satisfied.

But if he comes out, again not shooting when left wide open, and again avoiding the FT line, which causes him to play passive and not attack the basket like he should, and another sub 60% ft shooting season, and maaaaan I am going to be upset and really looking around for possible trades at some point

Ahh Derrick Coleman could have easily been a HOFer with the skills he had. Just did not work hard.

I'm hoping for Ben to prove all of this critics wrong. I'm hoping people will look back at his contract and say that is a bargain.

Ben will play in the exhibition game vs USA in Australia but still won't participate on World Cup

He is back in Australia anyway to be with family and run some camps... so playing those exhibition games fitted in well.

I think that was his intention all along and he had no intention of ever going to the World Cup. If you watch his video when he announced it he was very careful in never even mentioning the world cup... only that he was going to make himself available to the Boomers for "upcoming events".

I'll say a 100 because he should try to take more than 1a game.

If Ben goes 25/100 on the year from 3, that would be a massive upgrade.

I'd honestly be shocked if Ben took 100 threes next season. But I'd be happy if they're all wide open looks.

As far as I am concerned he has only ever taken 1 3 pointer in the NBA. Every single attempt was a desperation heave at the end of the clock.

He did have one that he barely missed though late in the season this year.

Other than that one, I don't remember ever seeing him deliberately squaring up and taking a deliberate 3 point shot in the flow of the offense.

So going from 1 or zero to 50 would be a huge change. I don't think that the 3 should be any part of his game at all at this point. He needs to become a credible mid range jump shooter first.

I think he took 2? The Laker game and then another one.

Personally I'd much rather he take a 3 with his feet set versus those bs fadeaway midrange shots he takes.

I think it is better for Ben to shoot a spot up 3 pointer. Like for example, an Embiid post up then kick out to Ben if his man goes to double team. That is closer to what he is practicing in the gym.
