The Suns had top notch point guards for nearly 25 years, starting with KJ in 88 and ending with Nash in 2012. Fans were really not used to seeing a team without one. We had a few Marbury years in there that felt like the lesser years of that span, but he was still a 20/8 guy, though he lacked scoring efficiency.

......

Gail Goodrich, Charlie Scott, Paul Westphal, Ricky Sobers, Don Buse, Dennis Johnson, Kyle Macy, Jeff Hornacek, and Danny Ainge say hi

All of those guys begtter than what we've had.
Put it all on Jerry C... he was a hall of famer Illini PG in the early 60s. it was his/our stamp/signature... like not having a true center 8-)

Most of them were prior to 84, except for the ones who played with KJ when he was the primary PG. Except Macy, who was there one year, but was nothing special. Hornacek was a rookie the year before KJ got there and didn't play much....we were relying on Jay Humphries...from 84-85 to 87-88 was the longest tough stretch of losing seasons since the early years....until now. Even in 83-84 they had dipped to 500, but somehow made it to the WCF.

Im aware of the time lines, or at least lived them, haha saw all but goodrich. I was merely pointing out we have had a much lengthy history of better than average PGs. It has always been JCs focus. He had a good eye for that talent. Dragic being the last of his inputs.

Those are not the new ratings for NBA 2K20. Those are from the end of last season (2K19).

This is very low considering their scale, Rubio always gets underrated by 2k,I bet they will have his passing way lower than it should be, because 2k roster editors are in love with basic staline average. I have no clue what Intangible slider does, beside it just being copout for roster editor to influence overall rating, but Rubio's intangible rating in game is one of the lowest in the entire league, where in reality I would say Rubio has one of the strongest intangibles.

That said, 2k ratings are getting better, I remember in 2012 their rosters were atrocious, like they seriously havent seen player their rating in their lives. Rubios on ball defense in that game was 55, I still remember it cause how ridiculous it was. Josh Childress was better shooter than Kobe in that game too, those were the days some di**head who knows jack got paid to do those rosters...

Not rocket science.
If you want Rubio to rub on you you need to lett him be your Kidd.
If you try to nash him bashing is on the way.

If I remember correctly.. in 2k19 his three passing attributes are in the mid 70’s... should be in the 90’s

I’d have Rubio ~ a 82

I'm really liking these new Ricky posters. I know they follow him from team to team, but they write thoughtful posts highlighting his strengths and acknowledging is weaknesses. I remember some of the Hedo Turkoglu posters and that didn't go too well on this board.

We need Ricky to be successful for this team. I know some are not hopeful, but if we structure the offense where he is primary ball handler in a spread 3-point offense I think he can find the open man for high percentage shots. Booker has improved greatly each of the past 3 years and could reach yet another high level if he lets Ricky run the offense and then move actively off ball waiting for the assisted 3.

This is exactly right. Ricky Rubio's skill set is almost exactly the same as Jason Kidd at the same moment in his career. Kidd did add an adequate three point shot later. It would be nice if Rubio could do that. 34% or better would be sufficient.
