Then I checked his stats; he averaged 0.7 assists/36 minutes that season. Oh well. :)

man, we haven't had that kind of footwork and finishing ability in the post since mchale. even big al wasn't that smooth.
he even puts up mchale-like assist numbers... 8-)

McHale actually had some good passing instincts while running the break. In the half court, however ... :)

I also don't recall much about McHale's outlet passing. Bird and Parish were both volume rebounders and outstanding/elite outlet passers, so the situation didn't seem to come up much.

Probably meaningless six years later and on another team yet still somehow discouraging, but the Hayward-Kanter pairing was BAD for Utah in their last season together. In 1470 minutes, Jazz were outscored by 12.2 points per 100 possessions when those two shared the floor.

FWIW, one of my friends, who's a big Knicks fan, says Knicks fans called Kanter "Enes the Menace".

Couldn't be a more fitting nickname IMO.

What's the holdup on the Kanter and Kemba press conference? AD, Horford, and other new players have already had theirs for other teams. C'mon Celtics.

Conspiracy theorist say we are waiting on a trade for Kat or Beal before we announce them! 8-)

Kanter says he had several offers on the table, including more lucrative offers than what he signed for. But he decided the most important thing to him was finding an organization with “a winning culture and good, young players on the roster.”

One thing sealed the deal: A message from an All-Star guard.

“One of the reasons I picked Boston was because of Kemba Walker,” he said. “He called me during free agency on Danny Ainge’s phone. He said, ‘Hey, how we doing, big man?’ That was special to me.”

He's a good follow on IG, always puts content up. JB is probably next or tied on the team in that regard. Cs are generally not posting much, especially during the season. Last season IG was better to follow family and friends to see anything on most of the players. I think I recall CBS asks them to restrict their social media usage because I can't believe guys so young don't want to post more. Not only for popularity but these days they can get a lot of coins through advertising if they post more content people crave.

I appreciate the fact that he puts up free basketball camps using his own money. Just looks like a kind guy.

What was the joke he made about number 11? I couldn't quite hear what he said.

Great press conference. Two players who are more excited than I've seen two players be at one of these. Kanter was all smiles the whole time.

Kanter is going to be loved here if for only his willingness to mix it up.

It's fine if he can become a threat from outside. I just hope they don't overdo it. That would be counter to his one major strength which is offensive boards/putbacks.

Enes is a guy you hate on the opposing team, but totally love on yours.

I've already warmed up to the guy.

I've always like Kanter and always felt like he was very underrated. I like him a lot as a person as well.

The problem with him is that he doesn't like to pass the ball. You can double team him and he'll still force a shot. Hopefully he breaks that habit here in Boston.
