I think they were fine very shortly after the crap on Twitter. Like they met up and poked fun at each other within a matter of weeks at a press conference or something similar.

Anthony Davis pulling out (just like Simmons, after a big public pledge to be on the team) figures to greatly increase Brook Lopez’s chances of making the final Team USA roster.

Odds of there being a working group convening at FIBA HQ this week under the title of "The Rich Paul Problem"?

Don't be a Kyrie, Ben.

Bruno Caboclo would be an all star if he played under Giannis "rules".

My idea USA squad-

Lillard/Walker
Beal/McCollum/Mitchell
Harden/Middleton
Tucker/Millsap
Lopez/Love/Turner

Zion would be awesome, can’t imagine the Pelicans would let him play.

He opted out at the Pistons' request before the selection started.

Would like Middleton and Lopez to opt-out of this like AD did. Nothing positive comes of it, other than injury chances.

(And you can negative AND 1 me for yelling at clouds).

There's no stopping Giannis from gold this year either. What's the point?

Think there’s a ton of positive in having good vibes Bucks recruiters in the Team USA mix for the first time. History shows us time and again that’s where seeds get planted for the top dudes to team up.

So it looks like Ben will train with the national team, play in the lead up matches in Australia, skip the World Cup and has committed to the Olympics (presumably after clearing it with the folks holding the purse strings this time). Training/playing some games is great for the future, probably not so great for team prep for the World Cup- if he runs the point it's too big a difference to the other guys who will run it for the rest of the year.

Maybe they want to get a medal?

I assume the big names will play in the olympics and they won't be invited then.

Noticed another Rich Paul client has pulled out from the WC. Sure it's just a coincidence.

Feel like Team USA’s going to have to make a couple of late additions. They’ve lost the mega star talent to cover for what looks like a pretty defensively challenged roster( with a couple exceptions.) Really need some size and athleticism on the wing and up front and a ballhawk in the backcourt. Not confident that some combination of Kuzma/Tobias Harris/Harrison Barnes/Jason Tatum is gonna get it done against the world’s best. PJ Tucker will be vital. The guards (Lillard/Kemba/Mitchell/McCollum/Beal) are also smallish and not know for their defensive prowess. As talented as they are, USA will be going up against guys who’ve played together for years, some more than a decade. Hard for defensively challenged dudes to be tossed together and expected to make it work on the fly. If I’m running Team USA I’m working hard to get Jaylen Brown, Pat Beverley, Justice Winslow, Josh Richardson, Gary Harris, Torrey Craig, Bam Adebayo, Jeremi Grant, Noah Vonleh, Kevon Looney, Montrez Harrell and Jaren Jackson into the mix.

Yeah Team USA doesn't look too intimidating
Then again Lillard and Kemba can just go nuclear at any point in time and then you're done.

Definitely getting 2002 6th place vibes. Pop was coincidentally on that staff too.
