Jaylen Brown.

This is the only acceptable answer.

Nah, Kanter is gonna foul him and imprint the 11 from his jersey on his forehead.

Morris would have been perfect for that type of foul if we’d kept him, but roster as is, I’ll go with Jaylen because I suspect he can’t stand the phony bastard.

Kyrie quit on us in December. He definitely poisoned our chances with AD. He completely and utterly **** us. Could not hate that guy more.

I **** knew it!! What a little bitch. And the people who tried to defend him over the past few weeks can **** right off, too.

Everybody on this board knew it. Some people knew and didn’t care because he’s a super star and some people lied to themselves.

Vincent Poirier will take Kyrie's head off. That's why Poirier is here.

Yeah. The 2 and 3 distinction is meaningless.

I think the player that has disappeared is the classic power forward. He plays center now.

Doubt we could have had SGA for Kyrie.. Trading Irving for DAR would’ve been interesting, but.. no Irving means no bidding on AD - and we had no idea that was going to end the way it did. There isn’t much else we could have done, which makes it worse.

I think Smart would have preferred Kyrie stayed. If Brad does the right thing by the franchise, Smart will not be starting. I can see him causing a problem. He’s tried to kinda “ son” Brown in the past. I would t be surprised if these two guys don’t like each other.

Smart, Mook and Tatum are the only guys that got along with Kyrie. Everyone else? Not so much. Jaylen especially.

Whose that

There was a cringeworthy thread last season that died right around the time you joined (it looks like). A few people taking a victory lap and insisting other posters, who had been against the signing, take “L’s” because Marcus Smart appeared to be living up to the first few months of his contract.

To be fair, I'll still victory lap on that lol. One of the better contracts in the league now.

To be fair, there were a lot of posters that hated on Smart and anyone defending him for several years like it was their religion that clowned themselves, before trying to claim victory by saying they knew it all along, had he only shot the ball less.

Well, he completely changed his shot profile and 3pt shooting percentages this year. So I think 95% of people who had an issue with Smart, it was because he took too many awful shots and also he couldn't shoot from 3. He changed both this year. He took 61% of his shots from three this year (up from 48.3% the year prior) AND improved his 3pt shooting from 30.1% (TERRIBLE, **** ME I WANT TO DIE IT'S SO BAD, OH MY GOD MY EYES ARE BURNING FROM ALL THE TERRIBLE BRICKS) to 36.4% (HMM, THIS IS PRETTY GOOD, KEEP IT UP, MARCUS).

If you predicted that he would both improve his shot selection and go from the worst volume 3pt shooter in NBA history to an above average 3 pt shooter (in one season), congrats. Otherwise, take a nap on the victory lap.

On the day he signed his contract he had taken 1093 3P shots at a 29.3% clip. Then he immediately shot 346 @ 36.4%. He went from bottom 10 all-time to 38th in the NBA (as in, 37 player took more 3s at a higher percentage last season).

LMAOOOOOO.

I'm thinking about splurging on court-side (visitor side) tickets for the first Nets@Blazers game and showing up in either a Kemba or Kanter jersey and with a sign that let's him know what I think about him. I wonder if I could give that troll at the Wizards games a run for his money.

Wasn’t there a story a year or two back where Smart asked to not start as he thought it was better for the team?

At the time we drafted him it was our first deep dive into the lottery and a lot of folks wanted and expected a star. Problem is at that spot in that draft it really was not going to happen. I remember saying at the time that not every player becomes an all-star. Sometimes you get a really good role player like Battie. And you shouldn't give up on them like Denver did with Battie when they dubbed him 'el busto' and gave him away to us for nothing. Turns out Smart was not only a good role player but really really great one.

Main argument for awhile was him vs Julius Randle (who came right after him) because Randle scored more. WIth some mention of Zach LaVine. Turns out the true standouts was Jokic in the second round who few of us saw coming.

All in all in that draft in that spot we did very well. I think it was David Griffin who said the position Marcus Smart plays isn't point guard or shooting guard but "winner." And with his hustle and defense he does just that. He's the only guy who can shoot bricks all game and still come out +25 in the +/- column. May not make an all-star game but he will get you wins.

I don't remember the guy's name and I don't know if he's still there but there used to be a Wizards season ticket holder who had seats right behind the visitors bench. They guy would heckle the opposing players mercilessly.
