Kevin Love Production

Post#1 » by Revenged25 » Thu Jul 18, 2019 7:18 pm

So with all the crap trades being tossed around, I figured I would make up a list of players that provide what Love does in just the most basic Pts/G, Rebs/G. I removed obvious SF like George and Kawhi.

18-19 (F, F/C, C/F) 17 >= PPG, 7 RPG . http://bkref.com/tiny/eHnCy
AD (25.9/12.0)
Griffin (24.5/7.5)
KAT (24.4/12.4)
Randle (21.4/8.7)
LMA (21.3/9.2)
Jokic (20.1/10.8)
Tobias Harris (20.0/7.9)
John Collins (19.5/9.8)
Markkanen (18.7/9.0)
Love (17.0/10.9)

17-18 (Same baseline as above) http://bkref.com/tiny/F4GSR
AD (28.1/11.1)
Cousins (25.2/12.9)
LMA (23.1/8.5)
Griffin (21.4/7.4)
KAT (21.3/12.3)
Jokic (18.5/10.7)
Gordon (17.6/7.9)
Love (17.6/9.3)

16-17 (Same as above) . http://bkref.com/tiny/wdlUb
AD (28.0/11.8)
Cousins (27.0/11.0)
KAT (25.1/12.3)
Griffin (21.6/8.1)
Love (19.0/11.1)
Millsap (18.1/7.7)
Zingas (18.1/7.2)
LMA (17.3/3.3)

Interesting don't you think that the number of players that that position that average 17 pts and 7 rebounds is so low? Almost all of them are unquestionably max level players. I know Love has had some issues with injuries, but of the players at the PF/C position to average 17/7 over the past 3 years he's one of 5 to do it in each of those seasons and the number goes even lower if you up it to the fact that Love actually averages 17/9 each season of those seasons.

A healthy K. Love is worth every penny of his deal. But the reality is that he hasn't been healthy and the Cavs probably should've gotten a $5M per discount because of that.

is that a joke?
Griffin is never healthy, KP is coming off a major injury, and Boogie is clearly more injury prone than Love.

Missing at least a dozen games due to injury or *load management* is quickly becoming the norm. I can live with Love playing 60-70 games a year. But he really needs to be on the court for at least that many games. Anything less won't hurt the Cavs this year as they need to retain their pick, but it will kill his trade value and ensure he's here for his entire contract.

I bet Love excels in this offense , he going to put up great numbers, Im glad the Cavs held on to him, at least if they trade him before trade dead line, his numbers will be great and get more value
