My regular season lineup would be this

Bledsoe.......Hill............DDV
Brown.........Matthews....Smith
Middleton....Pat............Thanasis
Giannis.......Wilson........Ilyasova
Lopez.........Lopez

Even without Brogdon the Bucks are still a 60 win team in the East. Bud needs to play Brown, DDV and Wilson until the deadline to make them positive assets. Horst and Bud should set themselves ready for a big trade then. We don't have too many picks if a star like Beal becomes available at some point, we need to add value to our package with young players.

After the deadline Bud can play more vets like Matthews, Ilyasova and Smith and have them ready for the playoffs.

If Bucks truly are interested in both Korver and JR Smith, I can see Sterling not even making it to camp.

His on/off defensive numbers last year when Brogdon went down were horrifying and he looked lost at summer league.

I'm sure someone would take him off our hands as he has value, but, I'm wondering if he's long for the Bucks organization

Between Wes, Brown, DDV, Pat, potentially Smith, I feel good that finding a sufficient 2-guard rotation won't be an issue. But it sucks not having the sure presence of Brog.

Also in just looking at some of the proposed rotations, I'm with Em, we need a 3rd-string PG.

Sterling played 43% of his minutes at SF last year and Pat played only 9% of his there. I'm thinking that DDV starts at SG but goes to the bench at the first timeout and then plays some PG in the 3rd quarter.
Shoot, Move, and Communicate...

Looks good to me. Lets go win a title!

Its interesting to see so many players with potential of playing time. If we sign Korver and Smith. It'll be an interesting battle for playing time. And alot of Veteran players.

Nah, Bud will keep everyone happy. He doesn’t play guys big minutes, especially early on in the season. Everyone will get run. Think about how many games we literally had won in the early 3rd quarter early on last season. Giannis sat a good majority of 4th quarters it seemed. I hope we have that same issue this year.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

I agree. I don’t see DDV or Brown playing much, they definitely won’t start.

If Middleton gets hurt for a prolonged period of time our swing man rotation starts to look pretty horrific.

As it stands we really need Wes Matthews to have a resurgence or DDV to emerge.

Signing one or both of Korver or Smith would help.

Pat having another year in our system can't hurt and Brown stepping up could happen but neither seem so likely to move the needle.

And / or additional moves between now and the deadline.

Its the regular season not the playoffs, we can still win 60 games with DDV learning the ropes as a starter, but IN the playoffs I dont think that we are a contender with Wes or JR as our starting SG. DDV or somebody HAS TO STEP UP.

Huh? Our wing depth looks to be Top-5 in the entire league. It's guard where we're really gonna be SOL if either Bledsoe or Hill suffers any sort of prolonged injury.

the Bucks won the first two rounds of playoff games...and the first two games against the raps...without Brogdon.

i'm very much confused by your take.

this

bucks will really be in a bit of a pickle if Hill or Bleds is down for a while and they're depending on DDV to run the point

We haven't actually signed either JR or Korver yet, just want to point that out again. :)

(would be surprised if we don't end up with at least one of the two though)

Wes will defend and hit 3s. I'm comfortable with the depth of Pat, DDV, and Brown while also expecting Hill to play off the ball at times too. The ceiling is still Title Contender. With Giannis, you have the luxury of being able to look at the other positions differently to assemble an elite team.

I am fully in favor of JR Smith taking over the Jason Terry towel waiving role. Maybe he can even learn to distract some opposing players.

This makes sense to me if, as you said, they're interested in both of those guys. Sterling and the 2025 2nd for Melton!

I think bringing in Smith and Korver on the minimum makes a lot of sense, and of course we would still have some picks to make a deadline type move. It would be a roster worthy of a finals push.

Having said that, fast forward to the year 2031. You pick up your tablet device, and see that Giannis just released an autobiography. You are intrigued, so you start reading. Around page 200 (not sure if we will still use the word "page') you notice there are a few paragraphs about JR Smith. Honest question... what is the likelihood that future impression/experience will be positive? 5%? 8%? What is the likelihood that it will be some incident of him holding up the team plane because he tried to sneak weed through customs? Or went on a February east coast trip without packing a shirt? Or costing us a playoff game with a really awful last second lack of game awareness? 85%? 90%? I feel the chances of JR Smith making legit contributions much much less likely than continuing to add to his lore as a really weird and dense guy.
