Boston says no to Brown for Bamba. Bamba looked pretty bad last year and is a ways away from being a positive contributor on a playoff team. I’d still trade for him if the price was right, but Brown isnt it.

We'd never have these conversations if people didn't go in for years on people for takes they weren't even wrong about. I got dragged for years and years by IT fanboys over supporting Smart and saying we should have tanked a little harder. And now we are going to pretend they were right all along because Smart makes an extra basket every five games?

Nope!

No problem, keep it going. Just thinking aloud that it's supposed to be about the Cs not who is the most right and now let's shove the crow down the throat at every turn. Still have no problem with the occasional "I told you so!" but it went beyond that and started to Jack the thread. I have no issue with you, this isn't a big deal. I had many debates about IT4 and how I thought his play was overrated in some ways, trust me, I know how they roll. Can't take it to heart.

In fairness, Cave has cut back on the frequency with which he poisons discussion. I wouldn't be here now if he were still doing it at his old rate. Perhaps we can learn to tolerate this level of awfulness. And of course -- presumably with a few exceptions -- none of us knows much about the other's lives. Perhaps he has some demons that drive him relentlessly to do this.

This is baiting. Knock it off. And the last part is just wholly offensive and unnecessary— you're better than that.

I apologize. Obviously what I want in a forum isn't a great fit for this one at this time. Easily fixed.

No, don't say this, it's going to start again. Come on, we don't have to get along but please no attacking people!

I'm glad I'm not a mod, woo y'all can bite!

This. Stop with it, this forum is way better than it was 3 months ago. No more people attacking each other. Much more fun, and respect.
Let's keep talking about basketball, Celtics and how the Lakers are a complete sh** show :naaa:

I think he for sure turns that down. I can’t imagine he gets less than that next summer. I think he’d turn down 100/4. This year is a big opportunity for him, short of 30, I think he waits.

If we offer above 5/125, with the last year being a player option, I think we could find some middle ground for an extension and ultimately land at less than 5/135. It would be less than the max, but the certainty of landing that much money should get it done. After all, Giannis a few years back took a bit less than the max for the absolute certainty of 100M+ — as have many other players.

Don’t think this is true but it does make sense. Celtics are long on quality wings and short on quality big men.

FTFY. That dude was great this year, but did you see his knee brace that he wore during the playoffs? Also had knee surgery after the Pistons season ended.

Again, the only way I make this trade is if the Pistons throw in a pick for taking on his contract. Detroit knows he could fall apart at any moment.

He was still injured and he was out there playing. The guy was going all in.

He was hobbling around on one leg, and I'm not too sure why the Pistons let him play.

Unpopular opinion but in all honesty, if Pistons accepted Hayward + Memphis pick for Griffin i’d do it. Find a way to get Beal after that & we’re DEFINITELY competing for a championship.

Not saying I would do this but trading Hayward, Ojeleye and a 2020 1st for Blake Griffin leaves a pretty good team.

Sign: Green, Fall

PG - Kemba, Smart, Wanamaker
SG - Brown, Edwards
SF - Tatum, Langford, Green
PF - Griffin, G. Williams, Theis
C - Kanter, R. Williams, Poirier, Fall

Not bad. A lot of flexibility

Yea no thanks.

In that scenario trading an all star cal player AND the Memphis pick, I need a quality player that can stay on the court

No they’re not. To get Beal, you’re giving up Brown and Smart plus the rest of the picks. Griffin gets hurt and we’re back where we started with less depth and many fewer picks. Gordon for Blake I’d do.

Return to Boston Celtics
