The magic number is less than $50k. Anything less and it could be for Ft Wayne on either an exhibit 10 or not. Over that, and they’d be excluded from being steered to Ft Wayne.

Probably not as it’d be reported that way. My hunch is that, especially after the lack of any centers on the summer league team, this is an attempt to steer a pick and dive center to Ft Wayne on an exhibit 10 after final cuts at camp.

Probably someone who can spar with Goga for a bit.

Saw glimpses of him on G League highlight vids. Good shot blocker and is very mobile. Not much shooting though.

Tony East reporting its an Exhibit 10 with $50k or less guaranteed (guarantee only counts if they sign with Ft Wayne after cuts and spend 60 days with The Mad Ants. He also reports that Wilcox has an Exhibit 10.

Yeah, but they’re two completely different things. Exhibit 10’s can be converted, but they’re not that yet. It’s a big league contract. A 2 Way is not a big league contract.

understood. it's a camp tryout. highly doubtful he earns a full big league contract, but not impossible. next best case is a 2-way. then G-League. then nothing.

Yeah. Could definitely be converted but I’d assume we’d see a guy that might actually play in the nba one day rather than a guy that gets bench minutes in the GLeague. Definitely strikes me as an attempt to get a real big man to Ft Wayne, where we didn’t have one last year, and to be able to situationally play a two big lineup if we ever send Goga down for some run here and there to let him get a bit more familiar with the big league setup.

I do worry with all the vets we have on the team, that there's not gonna be much left over for the young guys.

I feel like I’m pretty well versed on nba rosters and know rosters pretty well, and I can honestly say I’ve never heard of this guy once in my life. Interesting.

He was a beast as a Freshman and Sophomore for UConn. He seemed to struggle with injuries his last two years there and didn’t reach the level many expected. He can be a great defender and rim protector.

I figured out why we weren't in agreement. when I said a 2-way was possible, I was thinking long term, and you were thinking about what we'd done this week. I agree we didn't sign him to a 2-way, but I think converting it to a 2-way is more likely than him getting the full 15th contract.

Ah. Yeah, I was responding to the contract signed. A 2 way contract, straight up, is a much different deal than a summer contract or even exhibit 10’s, so it’s reported as such. Exhibit 10’s and 9’s are merely an extra clause added into a big league standard deal.

As for Brimah, I’d expect that waived and then signing in Ft Wayne is by far the most likely outcome, even moreso than Spellman last year. I’d think of it as a 2% chance he gets converted to 2 way, a 1% chance or less that he gets the big league deal, and a 99+% chance he waived and steered to the Mad Ants.

We need one more big... we need to think about games when Domas or Myles will be unavailable...

Looks like he played college ball at UCONN and was a good shot blocker. He was not drafted in 2017.
